i havent been on Matchdoctor very long but i have talked and joked with many of you and am going to miss all of you- i had 2 weeks off and now it is time to get back to the real world- the forums kept me sane for those 2 weeks- but reality has reared its ugly head and i must heed the call- not because i want to, but because i have to-i will be taking my ad off on Monday- everyone is very nice but just too far away- what i was looking for on here is not to be- as most of you well know it takes communication between 2 people, face to face, to start a relationship- not a keyboard- having not dated for the past 2 years, i thought this would be a good place to start- but i was wrong- dont get me wrong- i love this site- it is just not going to work for me at this time- maybe in the future- who knows what God has planned for us?i wish each and everyone of you the best and i do hope you find what you seek- love to you all wiccked

...just cuz you're gonna be busier, doesn't mean you have to take your profile off. Leave a note on there that you're offline and check back every week or so -- ya never know

Dang, you've sure been the poster girl of our AARP group!

Git yer lively tail back here as soon as you can, ok?

i want to thank you all for the nice things you said about me- is there really a way for me to stay on the forums alone??? i thought i would have to delete my entire profile- and that would mean the forums went with the profile- Can anyone tell me how to do this???? i am not real cyber smart on these things...thanks sunbabe, i am not real sure how to do what you said-

what i want to do is stay in the forums- not the rest of it- i work 2 jobs- 1 is a 12 hour day- and 6 hours a day on the weekends-have had the last 9 days off and got hooked on this darn thing- when i get home at nite, i just dont have the time to talk with the people that send messages- i usually go to pretty early and would rather spend my time in the forums- if there is a way to do this, PLEASE tell me!!!!!

Just rewrite (edit) your profile to say whatever you want...including "taking a break" or "time out" or "not looking for now"........~ahem~ please note that mine has the age-range Men 99-99 -- helps eliminate those who are just fishin' and matchin' computerized-search-wise.

If you keep ANY sort of profile -- minimal, even -- you can still sign in and post in the forums.

Your profile is yours to say as little or as much as you please

Oh...and if your mailbox is STILL chock full, there's an option in the email feature to hit back with "quick (but polite) reply"...

PS I've kept a copy of my old profiles just in case I had posted something particularly clever or witty that I might want to use again

First let me join the others in saying how much I have enjoyed reading your contributions here . . .as well as checking out your profile, ahem . . .

I have periodically (frequently?) deactivated my profile during periods of time when I did not have the time and/or energy to contribute. I found that when I did not drop by to handle the message inbox it would get filled up with stuff from the Philippines and China . . .as well as legitimate messages that I did not want to have the senders think I was blowing off during my absences.

When you go through the "Cancel Profile" steps your profile is deactivated but not deleted. Your forum messages remain although they do not link to the deactivated profile and there is no photo on the message. Anyone attempting to message you will get a "This member profile is no longer active" (or something like that) message . . .and will not be able to send you a message.

However, at such time as you decide to check back in or return to full immersion MD membership, everything will be returned to the same condition it was in when you canceled. Caveat . . . I am not sure if there is a time window for reactivation.

Hope this helps . . .we will all miss you during your absence

Don

Hey Wiccked - Just do the 'hang thang' like so many of us on here, too distant from delicious others to have the time and resources to commit to intercontinental hot doggy love. Keep good friends, make new friends, just in case you ever win that Powerball or MegaMillions and can travel around and see all these friends...

and maybe make hot doggy love...
