We live in tornado alley and I have yet to meet another storm chaser. Anyone out there like the thrill and adventure of the whirling column of air???

I don't have to chase tornadoes, as they seem to be coming to me instead. I got up close and personal with rain-shrouded tornado five years ago. The Mustang never recovered. I've had a few more visits since then, but nothing quite so drastic.

I grew up in Emporia, I used to love to head out into the flint hills, watch the storms roll in and search and search for the clouds to start dropping out of the sky. Never did find one but I did some see awesome lightning and thunderstorms. I’m still an extremely thrilled to watch a massive storm roll in.

I love storms! When ever the tornado sirens go off, I am outside looking for the tornado's myself! I saw a mile long wall cloud about 4 years ago over by Eldorado. It was great to see! I have also seen tornados crossing the highway in Newton, Ks.

Since I moved out here, to Las Vegas, from Kansas (wichita), one of the surprising things that I miss is the storms. It simply jus doesnt storm out here. rain, sure, on occasion. But, a full blown, hail, wind, tree bending, loud storm jus doesnt happen. And, I miss that. (that and the color green as used by nature)

Well to be honest things have changed some climate wise. You should be in the northeast kansas area we have alot of storms and tornadoes west of me. Usually they go around and hit northwest missouri. Storms really don't need them, Lightning is a NO NO for me. Lightining hit near me when I was pumping gas at 17 years old. The charge of energy is very scary .

When they tell u to hide in a basement I am right outside looking for the Tornado. I say a wall cloud 2 miles long that was by ElDorado a few yrs ago and it was neat to watch. It was clear down to the ground. I have also seen tornados when I was younger and use to go chase them. I haven't had time to do it these days, but Always go outside and watch the clouds during a storm.
