I happened across a profile of a close acquaintance who is BLATANTLY lying... not just making things sound a bit better or more attractive. I'm sure we're all adults and sensible enough to use caution, but it just irritates me that someone would waste so much time to build a profile, get involved in postings, and know they are lying through their teeth.
Is it worth reporting as 'abuse'?
Or, do I just smile and shake my head and say "You haven't changed a bit"?

if it's just a bit of puffery, let it go . . . but if he is plain ol' lying, turn him in . . . .
Liars are common these days. Guys lie about income and marital status the most. The ladies tend to lie about weight and their continued "involvement" in supposedly long-over romantic relationships (as in the last guy she dated). What can you do?
If a question asks about good looking you rate yourself, sure, many people will rate themselves high, and since beuaty is in the eye of the beholder . . . . . But when you list your build as "average" and you are 5-1 and 190 pounds, you are just plain lying (190 pounds for a 5-1 lady is WAY above average). On another note, if you have only talked to the lawyer a couple of times, you are NOT divorced. And no ladies, if your ex happened to come over for a romp in the hay last weekend, the "relationship" is NOT over.

Is it worth reporting as 'abuse'? Report a profile? That would be your word against his. Same thing if he were to report your profile. How would the moderator know which is true, if either? Sounds like skunks in a p*ssing match.

thanks.. you all are right. she WILL be found out. she's lying about herself in big obvious ways. her profile says single mom shortly divorced, but the truth is she has two kids by two guys who she does not remember because she was so drunk. this is the TRUTH and she will tell her close friends.
she just got fired for embezzling money and did some serious scrambling to avoid jail time. my thought process is that MOST people come here in hopes of meeting new friends and hopefully make a new romance.
it just upsets me to think how many sweet men out there will fall for her "poor little baby" routine..

it just upsets me to think how many sweet men out there will fall for her "poor little baby" routine If she's as stupid and greedy as you indicate, it wouldn't take but a couple e-mails for a guy to pick up the scent. Nothing specific; only a vague sense that she's not all there.

If the truth be known, there are quite a few of them lying. I have had several who were scammers and matchdoctor canceled their accounts. While going through new photos on here one day, I found the same picture of a guy three times, with three different ages living in three different states. Go explain that one to somebody. Some of the men are just downright crazy on here and some are just as nice as nice can be.
