I don't see how the people of Hollywood can disrespect John Wayne this way. He got an Oscar for that movie. I think it is a bunch of grap. I am not even going to go see this movie because I think it will be dispectful to. He was a great actor. I grew up watching his movies. He was referred to as my mom's boyfriend in my house hold growing up. Lord knows they don't make movies like they used too.

I saw the remake(terrible movie, by the way), while on a flight to Ireland with nothing else to do. While in Ireland I visited the Quiet Man bridge where part of that John Wayne movie was filmed to make recompense for having watched the remake of True Grit. Of course, I'd have gone there anyway.
