The topic relays my feelings. Are all men jerks? or are women flat dumb when it comes to love? For all the men about to flame me, save it, I heard it all, but there are enough players out there to give you all a bad rep. Women tend to be the forgiving ones and men run with that.WHY? Cuz you all like to have your cake and eat it to. The Worse ones I find are older men who cant get it up. They can blame it on the woman saying crap like..if I was more attracted to you OR I didn't feel you were still in love with the X..PLEAZE guys fess up! It's YOUR problem not outs!

Different emotionally, physically, genetically.

We listen & hear things differently.

Not sure if the OP is just a rant in the wake of an emotional upheaval from a recent messy break or what, but sometimes that's when people are at their most honest.
This is the advice I give everybody regarding dating. Nothing's guaranteed—certainly not relationship success. What might seem like heaven on earth at first blush might turn out to be your worst nightmare over time. Guess what, that's life. You either deal with it positively or hang up dating and relationships altogether (which some have done, unfortunately).
If you keep dating losers or incompatible jerks you need to take a break, step back, and reevaluate your approach.
If you're attracted to a certain type of person but it's not reciprocated, analyze why by asking yourself some tough questions about just who you CAN attract?
I'm evidently transfixed by smart, classy, sexy-looking women, but they happen to be (at least in all my experiences) entirely too high maintenance, shallow, and demanding. I obviously need to recalibrate my focus and alter my mindset (seemingly a never-ending battle), but most people I see continue to delude themselves into thinking they can attract a Cadillac when in reality they're more like a subcompact….lol. I'm sure there are successful, long-term (that's the true yardstick, right?) relationships between two people that appear diametrically opposite in personality, background, and income, but not many. Everyone dates pretty much within the confines of their social and economic status and circumstances.

Some women are jerks, and some men are "dumb" when it comes to love (I'm watching that in my son right now)
I doubt there are many people on earth that have not been "hurt", whether they have broken up or are still together.
As far as older men-where there is a will there is a way...or Viagra.

to be honest, so far, i have found the women to be dumb. oh, no doubt there are just as many jerks waiting for them to try to tie their shoes in the middle of the room. LOL it is a lot easier to sit down or at least back into the corner! LOL as was mentioned earlier by Mo, continue to reevaluate your situation. he has already agreed that it is very hard to give up the ideal. as for me, the tall redhead with personality has actually made the dating game a lot easier. as my eyes wander about the crowds now they are not necessarily looking for a face in the crowd, instead just another head above the crowd.  we be jammin

After 4 years on these sites and seeing 150 million American females say it ......... I’m convinced - sure glad I don’t like men (the pigs).

Yeah, I'm a jerk, in fact, I've been such an a$$hole lately, that even the voices in my head have stopped talking to me!
As far as these men you've been with not being able to get it up, may I offer a simple solution?
Try turning out the lights, I'm sure you'll find that many of us have a very good imagination!

Well, lots of great men out there, Cajun. It is your picker that is broke. Get a new one or fix the old one. That is the MAIN reason I stopped looking for a relationship. Now, I just amuse myself in MD until I get over the attraction or they go away.

I think there are lots of great men here on MD (I have to say that, I found my b/f here! LOL) and many many intelligent women. Don't paint all with the same brush because of the actions of a few.
