Yes, I've had to leave someone I loved deeply, but it was the best thing I could have done for myself, and for him.
Sometimes the most loving thing to do is to let someone go, no matter how difficult or painful it may be.
My experience with this reminds me of Josh Groban's song Verita (with english translations).
