How long does it take you to get over someone when you break up?
I think I seem to get over relationships fairy quickly. Just wondering how long it takes people to get over their ex's.

I think it depends on the relationship...and the other person really.
My last relationship, I was over him fairly quickly, but my resentment remained. Others, I have pondered for years if I made the right decision. the old "I wonder what if" syndrome.
However it works for you is the right way I think.

The same with me, the last one, I do have resentment.
As long as we have learned something about ourselves, that is the most important thing.

I never get over them, I just learn how to repress any control I once released to them. Once given always gave.
I have gotten really really good at self suppression.

I don't think there is any time limit..........just as long as it takes to realize that you have been saved from a fate worse than death

This makes me think of a question.... Should people form one to one relationship commitments at all?
Maybe it's just better to date multiple people, that way we don't have to worry about a breakup. I think that it would be great to date multiple partners at the same time (people do it anyway, and lie that they don't) so why live a lie?. If one seems busy then go out with a another one who isn't. This is especially a great relief to situations where a woman says....I need some me time, I need a break. Well let her have it, and just date others in the meantime. At least you won't be feeling the blues.
Just revise your thinking about dating lifestyle. Don't allow yourself to fall into a heartache trap or one where the other person has complete relationship control. It will work.

Once you accept it and make a choice to let go the healing begins. A breakup is almost always a time a personal growth once you get past the pain.

A psychologist friend once said to me, (half or mostly jokingly), that it took one month for every month in the relationship...
