Ok. A friend of mine can't figure out why she can't find "true love". She met this guy who treated her like solid gold. Even helped with the house work and so forth. They lived together for about 3 months and she one day she up and kicks him out. He rinses the aluminum cans out before he puts them in the recycle bin, squeezes the toothepaste from the BOTTOM of the tube, and forgets to put the seat back down on the toilet. Now I have to know.
Would you REALLY break up with someone over things like that, and if so, what were they doing that caused you to break up with them or them to break up with you????

I would really like to own a couple of mating peeves someday, and if my woman had a problem with that then she'll have to go out along with the bath water.
I really, really want to own a peeve.

LOL I always rinse the cans out before I put them in the recycle bin...hmm. As far as pet peeves...no I wouldn't break up over them. Everyone has pet peeves, you should get to know what they are before you enter into a serious relationship (living together/marriage type thing). Then if you can't handle it, if it's THAT bad...you work them out. But to leave over it? Eh, that's kinda drastic. Nobody's perfect, there's something in all of us that is annoying to someone.

I think that she is over reacting. I know we all have our little quirk's. I just wonder if she was just not ready to live with someone. I would never break up with someone over such minor thing's like that.

She should have a can of beer, brush her teeth, take a pee, and chill out.

IMO.. If that's all she had to complain about... she was lucky!
Those are things that a 5 minute talk would take care of.
I agree with the others... it was an excuse.

Even if the 5 minute talk didn't take care of it, there are so many more important things to be concerned about.

Sounds like there was definitely more to it than her not liking a few of his idiosyncracies, Harley. But sometimes people just lose interest and can't verbalize or pinpoint the exact cause or reason. If the relationship had something deeper, believe me, they'd still be together.
But this goes back to similar threads and comments about this topic. People can't seem to stay together nowadays because they're looking for perfection (at least their idea of it). You will NEVER, EVER get everything you're looking for in a relationship, so you work with what you can.

She might!! But I sure hope you don't leave a little hair on the sink or shed or anything. Boyfriend number (whatever number she's on now...too many for me to keep track of) just got tossed because he sheds all over everything..."he sheds like a damned dog!" (her words exactly)...... I swear if those were the only problems I faced in a relationship, I'd rush him to the alter RIGHT NOW AND FAST!!!!
On a more serious note, I did finally sit down with her the other day and just flat out told her to knock it off. She was giving these guys a really good excuse to think ALL women were like her and it was pi**ing me off. She didn't talk to me for a whole day, but finally called today. We're gonna have lunch tomorrow and talk a little more friendly about it. I agree with the majority of the posters here though. She's just looking for an excuse and I really feel she has some serious committment issues.

Harley said, 'I'd rush him to the alter..."
uh, you mean Altar? cuz alter means turning him into an it...
years ago, I dropped a wonderful woman, because everything I did, she compared to her loser ex-husband.... even though it was meant as compliments, because I was better, I still hated the comparison....

I think you are on to something here....and I suspect that there are some people who have this vague need for someone in their life, but cannot figure out ~WHY~ they do or where to place them.
There's always some adjusting to anyone who enters our lives, but some might use those adjustments as reasons for ending a relationship.
I call these people, "Not Ready for Prime Time Players."
Gawd, have I met a few....

"Not Ready For Prime Time" (but willing to try! ) is a much different thing than when you add "Players"
