Has anyone actually met someone from this site?

I've been on this site for quite awhile now and have come across many types of people. Some are shy, some are bold and some are player/gamers. But I have to say that I have had the opportunity to actually meet a handful of people. And no, it didn't work out but at lest I tried. Nothing ventured, nothing gained I say. And that's what this site is all about... actually meeting someone who.. just may become a good friend and who knows what else down the road.
As I am currently in contact with someone from this site, I have to say it's going really great chat wize. W'eve set up a real meet in the near future and from there who knows. So I ask all of you: Has anyone actullay met with another from this site?

I have met about 4 gals from this site and although there was no cosmic connection made and no second meetings with any of them (except the gal and her son I helped to move) There was at least a sense of friendship and no hurt feelings or misrepresentations. I think it was best that each meeting was kept initially in a very public and casual place and that none were considered dates. Dates so often create a feeling of expectation. Wherever there is expectation there will surely follow disappointment.

Yup, I have. Been on this site for bout five years an went to a MD get-together back when the boards were up the first time. Met several folks. Good folks. Still keep in contact with most of em.
Locally, I have met a few.
Not as many local rural folks on here.
This is a good site to meet or make friends
Its just that it gets easier to weed out the "cranial challenged" and see the "red flags" over time.

wordsenchanting: Rule #1, Always meet in a public place, #2, Tell a friend where your going, #3 Have them call to make sure your ok. And in my case... my brother drives me to the meet and comes in a few min later and sits somewhere else. If he can't do this, a friend does. I don't consider the first meet a real date.
ol_hillbilly: Totally understand the small country sceen, as I use to live in one but you know what? Even in your larger towns, tis still hard to meet people. And yes, I have met a few super nice folks and we to stay in touch. I also agree with you on sorting out the "cranial challanged", but thats 1/2 the fun.

 Sure have, several, unfortunatly some have now passed. Also been to three MD meets, within driving distance and made more friends. Have visited several individuals = more friends......
this SITE is GOOD.....no luck in the SPECIAL one as of yet, but one never knows.

were nice but there was no chemistry

i have been in conversation with this gal, she lives about 225 miles from me. theings are lookin gfood. we are still in the friendship stage of things. but there are so many dishonest people on here you don't really know who you can trust. personally i have become uninterested in this web site trying to find some one for me. there has been some that i have talked to for a while but then no responce and who konw's what happened to them.one of them made a reply on this subject i just don't worry about those things a persons reasons for what they do. but beware the past can come back to haunt you.

Yes I have met two people from this site. The first had some deep seeded mental issues , the second was a great guy and I hope to get together with him again soon.

I have been at this site about four years. Have not met 1 person.Have not really had about any sucess here. Have had MUCH more responses at latinlovesearchdotcom. In fact I am going to Peru next month.

Nope, I went to a MD gathering in 2002. And I must say, those two girls above and the rest of the folks I met there, Well, ya couldnt ask for any better folks.

Met and hooked up for a bit? a6stringrocks..but that didn't last.
I met a few others on here but they didn't last either or just weren't right for me.
I know a few folks from the site that I've met through other message boards and have to agree with Hilly, that 'sunbabe' and 'katt' and 'palomino' and 'danger' are some awesome folks :)
