I'm very disappointed that MD has now gone to pay for chat like a few others have done in the past few years. Do you think they have lost members because of this or gained them?

well lacy i went into md chat a couple times, its ok but nothing like yahoo. and if you have to pay to chat well i guess i will not be doing much chatting. for me it is a past time something to do for a short period of time when nothing else to do. personally i have given up on love i just come back in here to see what the topics that is being talked about. some are interesting, some are stupid and some raised the hair on my neck.  but when people find out that its a pay for thing they will drop off. there is too much pay for on the net now days. when i first got on the net about 7 years ago it was interesting and you could find out a lot of things. i mainly used it for communication with family seeing how they live out of town and its cheaper than a phone call. its almost a year sence i have been to the post office to get stamps now. shame shame.

Lacey, that was a temporary thing that lasted all of two or three days...Chat is back and FREE (um, according to MD -- hehehe, I'm sure not gonna go in there and peek. EEk! Chat scares me, lol!  )
(...but my guess is that it'll have 'breaks' or 'time outs' now and then if chatters can't self-regulate themselves -- but that's only what I'd do if it were mine...my take as a former mommy and Brownie leader.  )

Thats all I ever saw when they advertised "FREE". Worthless if all you want to do is chat.

chat is good but when you have to pay for it there will be more people that don't do it than will do it. i won't pay for chat thats stupid.

Well as long as it is free and if it ever gets that bad just let me know and I will set up a IRC chat channel for us if anybody is familiar with that chat network.It is not hard to learn,there are plenty of free IRC chat clients out there and there is even a web based browser chat available as well.
Added note: I'm about sick of Yahell chat and Yahell groups in my area as of late and thinking of just staying up on IRC full time as up there if you are the channel owner/operator and you deligate operator status to trusted individuals you can keep everything alot more secure.
