Well I have to many to list but I guess the truely best part could be when I had my last drink on Aug 2 2000 and proceeded to lose what little mind I had left at that time only to one day find it once again. I have not drank or drugged since and never will again.

good for you Chuck, keep up the good work :)

my favorite part would be my childhood, I was a 'tomboy' back then, hung out with my dad, my uncle, my brothers/cousins, in the hayfield, with my gparents, too; (dad's side mostly), we all had a good time; I used to play outside in the dirt with my brothers, or alone..my kids won't go outside alone at all, not even in the country..they don't play in the dirt, they're more interested in video games and music now.

I, like Stil, was quite the tomboy in my childhood days. But, they were the greatest of memories to me. I always helped outside with my Grandpa as much as I could get by with. Drove the tractor, truck and anything else I could put my hands on. I rode horses, even broke one, had pet pigs, raised calves/cows and chickens. I did housework too and knew how, just preferred outside, even working in the garden! This is what my favorite thing in life with good memories consists of.

And, I was taught, quite well, right from wrong . . .

oh how the times have changed. i could never let a kid do today the things i did when i was a teen. not saying any more about that its my secret. the thing i got a big kick out of as well as a few fights was when i was in high school i drove a hayride on friday and saturday nights. oh how the girls loved the horses. they would talk to me about how difficult it was to drive a team of horses. well i would invite them to sit next to me and put the lines in their hands and i would have to have my arm around her to help her a little bit while her boyfriend is doing a slow steam. little did they know that those horses knew the route better than i did. you didn't have to drive them just turn them loose. but the funniest thing was we had these red flashing lights on the 4 corners of the wagon this one guy pulled over he was so drunk it was pethetic he thought i was the police pulling him over. then there was this place called skipps. it was a drive in eat place like arnolds on happy days with the car hops etc. well if you had a fast car you better believe it was there on friday and saturday night. we had a quarter marked off on the street we would stop traffic and hold a drag race. the police never could catch us in the act. untill one night they had police there from 3 different cities, county and state. they hauled us off in school busses to the county jail and had our parents come get us and the cars was towed and impounded. i was free i rode with a friend of mine that night i got out when i seen what was going on walked down the river bank for about 2 miles and called my dad to come get me. he was not happy about the things that took place that night. well thats all i got for now more to follow later. doc

I'd have to say all the traveling, growing up in a military family, every 2-3 yrs we were moving, even now I get what I call itchy feet to pack up and move every so often and I've been here in MO for 18 yrs now. My parents tell my kids storys of our travels when I was younger than my kids now. One is that we were in Germany and I was about 5 or so, I had picked up the language really fast, they didn't know for a long time that I was actually cussing them out in German. I've kept a lot of friends from those travels and sometimes am lucky enough to run into them again.

My kids have lived here their whole life, pros and cons on military life, they've missed out on seeing a lot of the world but then again they've grown up w/the same friends. Guess you don't miss what you never had...

hay lindy i know what you mean. there was 4 of us that made it back from my unit in nam. one lived in flordia, one in penn, one in ohio and me. goldie was from penn it was just too much on his mind and he did his self in. we lost track of skinner in flordia but i still talk and go visit with nick in ohio. he has 2 girls and 2 boys and some grandkids now. we talk a lot about different things but we never bring up the time we was in country. i introduced him to his wife 38 years ago and they are still at it of course she don't speak to me anymore, j/k. sometimes i wished more would have made it back so we could have a reunion.

Hm.. thats a tricky one. Its not like i have many years under my belt but theres so many times I treasure. But I guess my most missed happy memory is Fishing with my Grandpa... He taugh me everything i know bout Fishing and hes the reason I want to go into Working with fish as a career. I want to work at a Fish Hatchery/Fish Farm... As good as a happy memory it is its a sad one cause he died os Cancer about 5 years ago... But we had good times together and I would trade that for nothing...
