I'll attempt a reply here, probably more calmer than Cowboy's posting 
I was always the one to wonder why did the US have to go in and help another country out when a different country was fighting with another country and not us, the US of A. I never understood much of that. I took all the necessary classes in school to pass but I guess I learned it and then I took the tests and that was that..don't ask me if i remember, because I don't.
I know we have the Peace Treaty
I know we have NATO
I know we have lots of other reasons that the US helps other countries besides putting us back on our feet.
I know Bush and any other President before him may not have been the best President of the US of A but unless you attempted to vote then you don't really have a say in anything on how the country, US is run, period. You can have all the opinions you want on a certain subject but if one of us hasn't voted, then we can't really talk about who's right, who's wrong, etc etc.
What I can say is that it would be great for the war in Iraq to be ended, complete so that our troops could come back to their families and friends. It would be great if there was no wars at all in the future, it would be totally AWESOME to find bin Laden and send him to court for what he did in Sept 2001. But, until we find that guy, I guess we're where we are, because of part of that and because Bush SR couldn't finish it the first time.
This is about all I can say on the subject; because I don't like to discuss politics and religion with my friends.

I agree with you stilsearchn! We are America and want to welcome everyone and anyone. We want to make them feel at home but at the same time, the Americans that were here before them are being forgotten. So many things have changed, doesn't feel like America anymore. Just a country people come to, to make their own. It's not right. If you want to live here you live by the rules that were founded on this country when it became a country. How many other countries adjust to and change things because people of different countries come to live there? Politics and religion start a lot of arguments and really aren't a good thing to talk about. But this is America and we all have Free Speech! So what can you do?

so what can you do:
you can read and not reply, or you can read and reply..in some instances where I'm on other message boards, the replies back to you and your opinions tend to be a lot stickier than on a more friendly board, such as this one..guess I've been burned one too many times, stating my opinions on such things and the folks that chimed in made me think I didn't know anything..hence the reason I normally keep my mouth shut.
Anyway, or you can not click on the subject, if you think it's going to bring you bad vibes if you read it.

Everyone is different. Lots of people want to let people know their opinions and don't give a rats behind what others think. Some might like to get a rise out of others on certain subjects. I try not to think too much about some things because I myself get carried away and get upset about it. Shouldn't but it happens.

Who's to say you are right or wrong. It is your opinion and how you feel about what is going on in the country you were born in. I think many people would agree with you for the most part. If someone doesn't like something, then they don't have to stick around, or if they do, they don't have to like it. People choose to do things that they want to do. It's up to them. Either live with it or move on!

I agree with cowboy. Look at all the changes that have occured here in the past decade! No prayer in school because of the diverse religions...Happy Holidays instead of Merry X-mas...political correctness everywhere.
I think that the email and physical address of the big wigs who "run" our gov should be posted so that the opinions expressed here could be sent there.
maybe if everyone got together and started yelling in big voice we could get something done. there has to be a line drawn somewhere or the USA is not going to be the place to live...we are losing what we stand for....Freedom....yes is a big part of it...but there has to be a way to define the American with out going crazy

when we visit or move to their country we go knowing that their culture is different from ours. they have their owns ways and laws and we abide by them. the difference with us is that we believe everyone shoud be able to share their opinion. but we haven't learned to draw the line at not jumping thru hoops for everyones way of thinking. If we keep changing our ways and laws then our country is going to look like there country...and excuse me....you probably moved here because it wasn't like the other countries....or becasue we are so gullable that we could be molded into what ever shape they wanted us in and we would smile while they screwed us
