I was once told that nobody wanted to hear me tell the truth . . . . that people just couldn't handle the truth?
What do YOU think?

I personally think theres a point to just how much truth people really do want to hear, guess it would depend on the situation.

Truth is always better than a lie. They say the truth hurts. I would personally rather have someone tell me the truth than lie about anything.

well to tell a lie is not good at all but like they say the truth hurts. well one could use a little tact in telling the truth. this helps in sparing someones feelings about something that is not plesent to say. its kinda like my ole pappy said " you tell a lie you have to tell another one to get out of that one"..

good one Hilly
I was talking to a good friend of mine last night, he was down in the dumps, I asked him how his lady was doing, he said I don't have one anymore, I said what happened, "I caught her in a lie"...alright, I told him, everyone lies sometime or another, sometimes and even lotsa times, you have to turn your head away and forgive them and just move on. Geez, I know I have lied a lot, most likely, probably to stay home from work cause I wasn't up to par for the 8 hr shift and the office grind, or I lied to my folks about what time I got in on a Saturday night...he can't tell me he's perfect and 'never' lies, no one can!
It's different if you catch them cheating on you, then yea, that's cause for a breakup, but just because someone lies and said they quit their job when they really got fired or let go or layed off, is not reason enough to dump them entirely.
I am where I am today in my life, not because I lied my way through it; I try to be as honest as the next person, but shit happens and sometimes we have to tell a story, fib, lie to get around the truth, if we don't want to hurt someone in the process.
I was with guy a few months ago and we chatted online, met in person, spent a few weekends together and he was all about 100% fitness, etc, yada yada yada, so I'm not a model, if I was, I don't think I'd be on a dating site, he really hurt my feelings; while I"m not 300+ lbs, I do have a little weight I could get rid of, but I don't, I'm me, I take care of myself, I don't go on chocolate, chip binges and drinking binges, I'm not an alcoholic, I don't smoke, ever; leave your crappy comments about how a woman/man looks to yourself and try to find the true beauty from within; now of course, there has to be an attraction; if you don't have an attraction, then it's not going to work anyway; but it's not all about looks and fitting into a size 2

i have two sayings that i use in my everyday life. i didn't know it till later but they are both from the bible. the first one is i believe the things you tell me untill you give me reason not to.. the second is if you allow enough time to pass by the truth will come out because one can not hide the truth.

that's a good way to go Doc, by the Bible
I have another friend in a tougher situation: he's been telling casual lies to an ex gf he says he hates sneaking around but knows what she's capable of when she gets mad, upset, angry, and since I don't want him to get hurt in the process, stuff he's told me awhile back, I keep my mouth shut too..Oh yes, I've had the pleasure of meeting his exgf a few weeks ago..he wanted me to stand up to her and tell her I was in the picture now LOL
I told him he had to stand up to her first

Plus when you tell one lie, you have to keep telling lies to cover the one lie that you told. I agree with you Doc,I will believe anything you tell me, but when you lie to me about something serious then to hell with you, and I will never believe another word you say. The same goes for respect, I will give you my respect but if you do something to lose that respect, then you will have to earn it another time, that is if you get a second chance.

well i try to be honest about everything. sometimes the truth hurts but one can make it easier by the way they say something. i don't feel that there is any reason to lie about anything!!! the truth might not be plesant but its better than living a lie. most of the time when someone lies they are trying to cover up something they did wrong is the way i see it.
