well i have a bunch of great nieces and nephews but i have these two little girls that are so cute they are my favorate. these two little girls goes crazy over my horses. well i was at wal mart today and i seen this movie black bueaty. i rember some of the movie slightly when i was in my kid days. and i was thinking this would be a great little gift for these two little girls. so i bought the movie and when i got home i watched it. i am glad i did too because it was so depressing it almost made me cry. i can't give this movie to these two little girls at their age they shouldn't know what depression is let alone experience it. and it was rated for the whole family. these people are crazy if they think i am gong to let these two little girls watch this movie NO WAY!!!!!!! I would like to know if i am being one sided about this and the views from others expecially mothers. doc

hey Doc, I haven't seen Black Beauty, yet...but if you want to give those girls a 'horse' movie, how about "Dream Catcher", Not sure of the exact title, but it was kinda sad, but more moving to the point of a positive ending, if it's not Dream Catcher, than it's Dreamer, maybe.
Anyone else know?
Another good horse movie, Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, I really like this movie and try not to miss it when I know it's coming on.

National Velvet
Might be hard to find, it's a classic, but worth the hunt.
It's basicaly about a young girl who wants nothing more in the world than a horse. Eats sleeps breaths horses. But the family can't aford one. Then by chance she wins one that is an amazing horse. She ends up getting to ride in a MAJOR race. And I'm not telling the ending. But it is not depressing and is a very encouraging movie for young girls, to have the courage to take on their dreems even if the odds (and social views) are against them as in this time period women were not allowed to race. And also her mother was a champion swimmer who swam the channel befor she settled down to marriage and family, and is a realy great role model in this movie.

well i found another one today its called wind dancer. its a story about a girl that had a hemerage in her brain and was confined to a wheel chair. she loved horses and her father found a gal that would give her animal therapy. it was a very good movie, i have seen it a long time ago but didn't know it untill at the end when wind dancer was trapped and cornered by a cougar. the girl got the horse free then the cougar was going to get the girl but wind dancer came back to help the girl. excellent movie for a kid.
