I was excited to see MD got forums and thought I'd start a thread for the Springfield MO area, so here goes...
Where are some good places to go to meet other singles?
Where are good places for first time meetings with people you meet on-line?

Since I'm a outdoorsy type feller, I'd say a first meeting place would be at Bass Pro in one of their coffee shops/restaurants. Or maybe at Barnes an Nobles.
Far as a place to meet singles, I have no idea. meybe Lowes or a bookstore? I'm clueless pretty much. I notta bar person. Nor have I met very many folks in springfield other'n just to talk to in passing.

Me and my friends used to go places and do things other than to the bar, but I'll be damned if I remember what it was. At least every other Sat night one of us will say how tired we are of the same old thing, but damned if we aren't right back in there. We see too much of each other. Maybe that's why we're all still single after all these years.

Maybe ya awta try goin to Lowes or Sutherlands. Guys hang out there. And they are always helpful to help ya find a sink elbow or a toilet plunger. Either one costs less than a mixed drink.
One can never have too many toilet plungers. You can always decorate a friends car with em.

Having been a home owner until a year ago, I have spent many hours in Home Depot and Lowes. (two of my favorite stores) And I have bought more than a few plumbing parts, as well as wiring and electrical stuff, and lumber, and a couple thou$and in power tools. But only once have I ever met a single man there. And that was some...maybe 23...year old who flirted with me near the two by sixes.
Allot of people recommend Barnes and Nobel. But the only guys I ever saw hanging out there were pretty creapy.

Yer prolly right bout Barnes an Nobles. The only gals I ever seen there, had their noses stuck inna book an wouldnt look up for nuthin short of trippin over em.
I did meet a couple gals at the Putt putt golf course. However I was in my twenties then. Prolly same age still hangs out there.
I reckon I could come down there an we could chase each other round walmarts in them motorized shopping carts. Be like bumper cars with obsticles.
Bound to run into someone ya like.

This strikes me as kinda weird...there have been guys checking me out at work lately, at my part time job. What's weird about it is that at that job I am in an ugly apron and ball cap, covered in flower, and .....wait.....omg it's the rubber gloves

We do have alot of Missouri people on here.I agree with dark moon. Let's get a get together planned. We could attract alot of people from many state's since we are centrally located. So what are we waiting for. Let's make this happen.

Hi! I am new to the site but also interested in where to meet single men.
I know there are lots arond the parks, I also look for single dads at the zoo :) What better place to find an animal LOL!
I do the bar/club scene but refuse to really meet anyone there...I always introduce myself as Ice Princess
If You figure out where all of the single men are hiding let me in on the secret

I wouldn't have thought of the parks or the zoo. That would be a great place to go hunting if you have youngins yourself.
For me...mine is 16 and I'm an almost emptly nester, so I'm not interested in getting hooked up with a guy who has little ones. I wonder where guys with teenagers congregate.

Ah ha, another good idea for some. Unfortunately, there is no way I could sit through games. I'm a doer not a watcher. And my son isn't in any sports either. Not to mention, if a guy is at games he is likely more of a sports fan himself than I would be interested in.
But I think we're on the right track here. Shoot me another one.

hi, ive been in this area for 3 yrs or so. ive messed with the personal sites in michigan and now here. all in all years. i dont care what everyone says about all the crap on these site( and i know there is alot of it) ive met a few people here from online. i still think this is a great pace to meet someone. if only everyone wasnt so picky. and the best place of all to go to meet with someone , that ive found so far, is walking at the nature center at 60 and 65. there is a long walk, a short walk, and its a great place to talk and hold hands( in a lucky situation), and theres allways lots of people around,,,and its just plain nice.

Feeling a bit sorry for ourselves, are we? There are many organizations that welcome volunteers. This type of activity makes you feel good about yourself and the people you meet are "the good folks." And you don't have to suffer through a date with an unknown.
