Well, I'm not sure if there is or isn't.. But I am asking people if they've been contacted by people that are supposedly living in the U.S. only to find out they are in another country on business or whatever .. lol I've had 2 similar situations happen lately.

Most of the potential scams, I've encountered, want to correspond on Email services other than those @ Match Doctor. I think they sell your yahoo or hotmail
address to spamers or other scamers.

Yeah, I get them. tho not as often as I used to. On another date site i used ta belong to, I got them all the time. Depending on my mood, I'd play along or not. Treat them the same as you would a telemarketer. Most of the time, they would hang up on me after I told em I was a poor goat herder. lol Other times I would say I wanted to get married right away an have lots of kids. and that she could support me while I fished. (seemed ideal to me) hahaha
Or just be polite an carry on a conversation an get to know where they live. Its amazing the conditions girls live with. Some are real girls, I do think. you can tell after a few emails.

Ask for their email address. If you get it, google it, or do a member search on yahoo.

Whatever ya do, Only use the site's messenger an mail services. They always want to use yer own personal service. seems they like yahoo for some reason. Never give it to them. I never give out my personal mail to anyone till after a few mails using the site's service. You can usually figger out whos who after a few mails. If they're a real person an want to get to know you, they will honor yer requests.

Did I mention, NEVER give out yer personal email till after a few letters?

I thought so. lol

Guess I've been fairly lucky so far. I've not encountered too many emails from what appears to be scammers. Perhaps it is that evil look in my eyes they notice and say, oh wow, she's a real B***H. In that case, I will continue to keep that look in my eye.

I have gotten two or three times emails from individuals on yahoo saying they've seen my picture. What picture? I don't have one on yahoo. You screwball. lol Took care of that one for sure!

It's a shame that we have the scammers, but, wouldn't want them to be all like me and be perfect. No comment, please!

Not only are scams coming from Africa and other countrys it is happening right here in the U.S.A.; our own country. It is a big business scaming males and females; by fake checks and fake bank accounts. I myself have received fake checks out of the blue and money oders ( U.S.A. Postal Money Orders that is ). Your e-mail accounts are sold to companies and then posted in magaines in other countries and if you know how you can find anyones e-mail account and address or name. So beware of anyone you talk to on yahoo; msn or aim and even this site cause if you how again you can even get someones e-mail address right from here.

You can do alot by Not having your last name on yer email account. Not in yer email address, nor in yer account, either. Cuz when ya send an email, guess what. It shows yer full name. Like whatever you have in yer account. And anytime you forward a joke or whatever (or someone else passes it along) it shows up.

Use "Bcc" anytime you mail to more than one person.

IF you have a business account, just use it for business. Not for personal stuff or jokes.

And like Mo_cowboy said, you can still find someone if ya wanna find em. It just takes longer if the looker dont have the whole name to find the lookee.

Hilli. I keep telling my friends to use that "BCC" field to send all emails, do they listen?????? Then, guess who gets some weirdo to contact them to say they know a friend of mine???? Like I know their friend, NOPE, not a clue.

So please, everyone for the sake of your family, friends, yourself, etc., use that BCC field, not the TO, not the CC fields to send all of your emails with jokes, etc. It will save a lot of people trouble down the road.

Thank you, I will now shut my mouth for the remainder of tonight.

a couple years ago i was trying to sell a steel guitar so i could get a new one and some guy contacted me from england said that he had a shipping company here in the states that owed him considerably amount of money and he would have them send me a check for say 5 grand have me keep out what i wanted for the guitar and send him a chashiers check. ok how this works is the check i recieve is phoney and i put it into my account and send him say about 4200 in the form of a cashiers check from my bank and about a week later i find out its a phoney check yet i sent this man 4200 now i have to cover the 4200. in short i gave away over 4 grand. these scam artest search the forsale sites and try to get a sucker. well i found out about this before i got the check and i contacted the site i was using and they contacted the fbi and they came to pick up the check. these people lived in the usa not england as stated and they was building up a case on the people but i have not heard any more about it. you have to be careful on the internet there are many scams out there just waiting for some one that don't know about it. they always have a yahoo address on the e mail so noone can tell where they live at. but they will get cought up with.
