down in the sticks is what a friend of mine used to tell me:
my hometown is Perryville, MO, I currently reside in St. Louis and still go to Perryville on the weekends to catch up with family/friends.
The ultimate goal of this posting is to see where everyone is from so we can maybe get together for a BBQ this summer, just for some fun (doc's posting on 'party')

oh boy what a story. well i am from chicago. yea thats right CHICAGO! but i move away from there several years ago and moved to arkansas. i lived there for a while and then moved to tennessee. i lived there for about 6 years and then i moved to missouri. and i now reside in moberly. about 35 miles north of columbia. i like it fine here the city is getting closer and closer. but i thought that a bbq would be a great thing. we could have it on a saturday and if people want to they could pitch a tent and stay till sunday too if we have it in this area. just my thoughts doc.

I am about 45 minutes north of Springfield. I love board get togethers. I just spent the weekend with a bunch of girls in Branson from a parenting board I have posted on for 4 years. It is FUN!

isn't Branson, just too cool ;)
I love the rolling hills, awesome scenery, I think I'd get lost in the winter time though with nothing to do

i was in branson for the first time last week. i liked the city and the many things to do there but as far as the hills go they suck donky dorkles. on two lane roads it takes you twice as long to get someplace and you better know the roads or you'll wind up where you started from. but they do have good food there and some good shows there. i have been trying to get to preform there when john haggi has his convention there. i think that would be the altumite of my life. its kinda like they say its a nice place to visit but i wouldn't want to live there. then there is the traffic. sometimes its terrable sometimes its not so bad. but when i go ridding through town everyone stops to look at my ride. ha ha ha

hi, i`m in rockaway beach, not too far off 65, between ozark and branson.been here 4 yrs and i like it cause its quite, old, and has that homey feel, and the boat ramp is across the road. i work in branson,,doc, i`ll tell ya, if you learn some of the backroads its not as bad as far as the traffic goes, but even then its bad, lol,,,,i travel 16 miles, it takes 20 minutes to get there,( ealy in the morning) and 45-60 to get home cause of all that traffic. there are no straight roads or flat roads any where around here.in the winter ice means trouble( just stay home),,, branson does have lots to do, but you had better bring a thick wallet with you. this weekend in rockaway there is the rods and relics rod run. its pretty cool to see all the old roadsters running around the subdivision. they block off main street( which is only a 1/4 mile long) and all the old cars park down there. pretty cool to walk and check out all the neat rides. then later at night, they rev them up and get a little crazy sometimes.

Hope ya dont mind me crossing over the state line..I live in Kansas, just about 10 miles west of kansas city, mo..
the Kansas thread has been quiet for a month..nuthin much happens here..they must be out watching cows or somethin' .
Branson is a neat place to visit..but yeah..need bucks to enjoy all the shows. When I was there, it seemed like a great place for seniors to get away from the retirement homes for the day..not many folks my age ..I felt like a fish outta water .
I'm now jealous of the guy with the boat ramp across the street from his house.
I park my boat in my friend's back yard..and the nearest decent lake is 10-25 miles from there.

hey mattfishin, welcome to the MO forums, 10 miles is close enough to be over here, isn't it guys :)
enjoy your weekend 6string, sounds like a lot of 'hot' fun ~
I'm home visiting family and friends this weekend, going out and partying, dancing, laughing and having a great awesome time.
Hey Farmington! That's not so far from my hometown of Perryville ;)

Well I was born in the KC area moved to Southeast Missouri area. Traveled a great deal to all of the United States except for Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon. Only to find myself back in the Southeast Missouri area of Cape Girardeau again! Don't know if that is a good or bad thing considering that I love the Southern Coastal Georgia and Southern Illinois area so much.

Actually, Ms. Lacey is from Columbia MO currently, about 15 miles from where she was born and raised for many, many years.
