Posts: 66 Looks like we need a new thread here. So I was thinking. I've only been in NJ about 7 yrs now and haven't explored enough of it. So in your opinion, what are the best things to see and do in NJ?

I just recently found The Twin Navesink Lighthouse and enjoyed visiting it and seeing the view towards NYC from the top of the lighthouse tower. Of course a quick ride from there to Sandy Hook was great, too. We watched the wind surfers and visited the Sandy Hook Lighthouse as well.

So what does everyone else enjoy around here?

Posts: 80 I live in Philly but Im a jersey boy. Jersey gets a bad rap but I love it. More character than any other state. It's got a Twin Peaks/X-Files-type charm and I have fond memories of living there. The land of the diner. Seedy roadside motels, home to two of the most risky cities in the nation: Camden and Newark. But it seems everybody wants to live there lately. One of the most populated states and one with as many celebrities living there as California and New York. (The real estate is cheaper but the property taxes are killers).

My favorite things to do were obviously go to AC and Cape May. Long Beach Island is beautiful if you ever get a chance. Travelling through the Pine Barrens, etc. I like the odd landmarks and stuff (check out a magazine called "Weird NJ"). NJ has plenty Check out the gravity roads. Cars roll uphill while in neutral. There's one in Franklin Lakes and it freaked me out when I was there.

Posts: 66 Thanks for responding, Crowne. Was beginning to wonder if anyone ever does anything here in NJ. Or maybe people aren't as friendly in these parts... I know my neighbors aren't. Though when I go out shopping, someone usually strikes up a conversation with me. So I know there are friendly people living somewhere around here.

Was wondering if I should have asked for the best places in NJ to make love. Seems sex gets everyone's attention... LOL!

I'll definitely have to look for that book. Sounds like it has some fun things to do. Thanks for suggesting it!
