How many out there actually live, or make frequent visits to NYC?

Live in Brooklyn Heights by the Borough hall (2,3,4,5) and Court Str (R,M,W) stations.

Work in the financial district -- Whitehall (R,W) and Bowling Green (4,5). Takes me about 10 minutes to get to work.

long island? i didn't know that, drain.

why in the world would you live there? i did the 2 hour commute (1 way) thing when i was living in princeton nj, and swore to never do that again. public transportation or not, commuting sucks.

if you ever need a couch, and i'm home and don't have a date over, feel free to ask. doesn't the LIRR turn into a pumpkin at 1am or something?

That is one serious commute. I hope your company pays for an occasional hotel. I live in Manhattan. No matter where I go I want to always have a place here.

Thanks for the offer Null...it's always good to have that option!

I actually have a pretty nice office with a couch in it and I have slept there on a few rare occasions...at least it has a nice view. No shower in the office though. I used to belong to a gym nearby and used the shower there as needed, but let my membership lapse as I just didn't have the time to go. A few other times I have taken a room on the company, but with it typically running about $400 a night, I try to keep that down a little. If I am going to be staying particularly late, I sometimes do get a room though. True...there aren't many trains on the LIRR after 1. If you miss one of those, you are in the city for the night.

Yeah Everrett, it is an oppressive commute. Sometimes I think I am crazy. But I have been doing it for 11 years! It's like a second job. Ya deal with it.

Luckily you are in a town that never sleeps. When you walk into the office red eyed and smelling of Vodka, all you need to say is "I missed my train."

Check out all the NYers coming out of the woodwork. I thought I was living in this town all by myself.

And yes the Villiage does own all.

Former Bronx girl who now lives in Florida.. My last visit was in 1999. I spent the summer in a apartment on West 70th Street. Three moms and five kids crammed into a one bedroom apartment. We had a blast.

New York is a very transient place so I am not surprised we have some displaced NYers. How do you all live without being able to run out and get food after 6pm. I might starve if I left Manhattan.

Silent Bob is mad cool, not unlike Null, but I dont see any other resemblance.

I know a lot of people may feel the same way but I don't think I could ever or even picture myself living newhere else. Living in NY now I could say there are a lot of dickheads out there but at the same time, we wouldn't be able to see all the diverse cultures and wutnot newhere else but here.

LETS GO METS, SORRY YANKEES, LETS GO GIANTS!
