Any musicians of the female variety around? I'm looking for a sort of "Musical" first date. Looking specifically for Pianists, Guitarists or Violinists.
Sounds kinda dumb don't it? Oh well, hopefully there's a couple of you creative music type women nearby

Nothing silly about having a "musical" first date. I think it's charming...and people should have something in common besides horomonal reactions toward one another. Unfortunately, my guitar playing pales in comparison to my vocal and writing abilities...so, perhaps we should just be friends? LOL!

I say we have a jam session and write some nice stuffs. That'd be nice no?

I could be like "Wooooooo"
And then you could be like "Cut that out"
Then I'll be all like "Waah"
Then you can be like "Check out my Falsetto!"
Which will lead me to be like "Sweeet"

Actually...women don't technically have a falsetto voice. That screechy scary high register that shouldn't be used (Mariah Carey) because it can tear up a vocal chord (hello, your parents sang opera...why don't you know this?) is called a "fry." Why do I know this crap? I trained in opera and it was beat into me. I was often encouraged to lay on the ground with massively thick books stacked on my gut while singing and supporting that heavy mess. Dang...No wonder my abs were fabulous back then. Sigh. The name, however...you'll have to thank my mother for.

I guess no one is single on Long Island or no one is admitting to being single and living on Long Island?

Yes, it is pretty hard having a life on Long Island. I'm thinking of outsourcing mine to India.

Haven't you heard? The standard of living in India is getting too high. Jobs are being re-outsourced to places like Thailand and Vietnam.

Null, unless it has to do with software requirements or local women, I haven't heard. But I will in the future look to you for the latest trendspotting.

LOL. It was the programming jobs that first started leaving India. I first read about it in an article in the India Times as an Op Ed piece. The guy was basically complaining that taxes in India are getting so high that they're driving programming jobs to other southeast Asian countries.
I was about to click the browser away when it suddenly hit me like a ton of bricks.
Those were f***ing American jobs he was talking about.
What nerve!
I didn't set out to program. I was a research scientist who was forced into finance. Not that I'm complaining --- the pay is above and beyond anything I ever expected to make, but it certainly wasn't what I set out to do. And mathematical finance is actually kind of interesting if you forget the fact that it has anything to do with money. LOL.
I got my job because I'm a solid programmer with miles of mathematical skill. My job is definitely not in danger of being outsourced since there's not a whole lot of people who have these math skills.
But man... If I were a computer science graduate, and spent 4 or 6 years getting my CS degree, I would be f***ing PISSED at all this outsourcing and H1-B nonsense. Also, engineers are screwed too, and those bastards almost always have to have at least a Master's degree to do anything useful.
I feel for them, because I have a lot of friends who are way more brilliant and talented than I am, and they're chronically unemployed.
I have a friend who teaches CS at University of California. Once upon a time, every CS program in the country was impacted. It was almost impossible to get into a CS program unless you were the cream of the crop.
These days, CS departments are begging on their hands and knees for people.
BTW, you know that me and emporer are getting together at Suspenders at 5:30 tomorrow for drinks and cigars. You (and everyone else) are very invited.
Null!
ps- Go to sleep. Don't you have a job to go to tomorrow morning??? LOL!

LOL. Yeah, I figured someone would mention that. I'm getting a 2nd masters in applied math, so I'm exempt from normal sleeping hours. My Salsa teacher invited me out Salsa dancing tonight (late), and I was trying to get my homework done so I could go with her. Unfortunately that didn't happen.
Don't worry -- I can usually go 3 days with 4 or 5 hours of sleep without becoming a totally zombie.

That's okay...I don't even drink hard liquor. I just thought the whole "T" thing was sorta cute...tangeray, tonic, Tina...get it? I am a dork...forgive me. I only drink wine (good wine), although I've recently been developing a taste for stout beer. Must be the cold weather? Love Guiness...tried some others from Whole Foods...don't remember the names, but one had an elephant on it that was terrible. The bottle was cool, though.
