Just got back from the Met, where I saw a fabulous exhibit of work by L.C. Tiffany. The works were all from him home at Cold Spring Harbor. In 1946, the works were stripped from the house and sold at auction to create the Tiffany Foundation. And thank goodness because less than a decade later, Laurelton burned to the ground.

Oh you should. It was fabulous. Also, go downstairs and see some of the stuff in the permanent Tiffany exhibit. Tiffany collected Navajo baskets and they have a huge lamp modeled after one of the baskets down in the permanent collection.
