A shoe thing...

For the past couple of years, I've noticed my feet tend to sweat when I'm at the office. Fortunately, I work at a desk (and my feet and socks are well-maintained), so nobody notices that I usually keep my shoes off. However, when I need to walk away from my desk, I often let the shoelaces hang loose, and it looks silly; alternatively, I can tie them, but then I'll forget and leave the shoes on upon my return (ending up with damp feet.)

The shoes fit fine, when untied. Anyone have a strategy for anchoring their shoelaces when not in use? It must be quicker to implement than simply tying and untying the laces.

(Oh, and no, it would not suffice for me to just wear flip-flops or something.)

Dude...get a pair of those slip on sneakers or Deck shoes. Better yet...use some Gold Bond Powder or Corn Starch. You're putting far too much effort into worrying about sweaty feet. Not the end of the world. Take up painting, pottery, the guitar...something. I apologize for being so harsh...but seriously...damp feet are not the end of the world.

Happily, I agree completely! Not a single tear has been shed in the making of this forum post.

>You're putting far too much effort into worrying about sweaty feet.

Mmmm...well, actually the most effort I've made has been re-tying them three or four times a day. It's marginally inconvenient, but hasn't reached the "too much effort" level thus far.

Y'know, I'd really love to set up a potter's wheel at my desk! It would definitely keep everybody guessing. I occasionally do drawings and tape them to the cubicle (nothing too obscene, yet, though I was asked to take one piece down.)

On the other hand, artistic pursuits don't keep my feet dry the way removing my shoes does. Ahhh...life's sweet quandaries...

Ooooh...not Velcro! I love that stuff way too much! I'd just sit there playing with the Velcro strips at my desk, annoying my co-workers and not getting any work done.

For some people, it's bubble wrap; for me, it's Velcro.

Foot gravy? Ewww.

Read the ingredients on Gold Bond sometime..some are made with Talcum Powder (which is bad for the lungs...especially the lungs of those with allergies and asthma) and some are made with Corn Starch (same stuff used on baby butts).

Corn Starch is safer and cheaper. Talc works...but I don't recommend it.

This forum, however, strengthens a personal theory that men gripe about the most unnecessary, bizzare things in comparison to their lady counterparts.

Hospital Negligence vs. Foot Sweat
Foot Sweat vs. Cheating Partners
Proper Education for our Children vs. Foot Sweat

But I'll give you guys this one: Frizzy Hair vs. Foot Sweat. Both are equally as annoying!
