Before I go to my meeting, I had to write this. I keep on forgetting to do so.
Did you know that N. Y. C. pigeons hop up the subway steps instead of flying? It looks so funny because they have these little claw feet with such fat bottoms. And they are not scared by your presence and will not move out of the way.
In Houston Texas, like their people, they move out of the way all the time.

Our pidgeons are by far tougher. I'd put them up against pidgeons in anyother city.

Our pigeons won't move for NOBODY!!!! The geese are the same way, the duck pond I walk around, they will never move, you have to step out of their way.

Keep your food with you because they can come so close. They don't even care what you have. And they tell their relatives to come too. You ever listen closely to what they say...Ummmm-duh......Ummm-duh......Umm-duh while their heads wobble, like those wobble head dolls.

They have signs all over the lake I walk around with the kids that you cannot feed the geese and how it destroys the environment, yada, yada, yada. I remember as a child always going to the duck pond and feeding them on Sunday's with my family. If you dare take out one piece of bread you have people screaming at you. I'll admit I get really annoyed when people feed the birds on the beach and then their circling all over your towel and dropping poop. You cannot leave a bag of chips or anything out on your blanket or swoooooooooop, its history.

I haven't been to the beach in so long...I almost forgot about the dive-bombing kamikaze sea gulls..........

The pigeons in Milwaukee are much the same, although not as aggressive-when I used to be a Transit driver, there were a lot of them that hung out in the Downtown Transit Center, in the marshalling area where the downtown routes lay over...they would casually saunter out of the way of the buses pulling in; they wouldn't fly...and in some spots, there was the evidences of those that didn't saunter fast enough: a flat, circular pile of feathers! The Canadian Geese here have gotten quite brazen the last few years; they will walk right up to you and take food from your picnic.

I was at the lake last night with the girls feeding the geese and ducks. I get a kick outta throwing and entire english muffin into the lake and watching them take off with it, aaah the simple pleasures in life

I had a pigeon shit on me once. Its pretty gross. Good thing it landed on my jacket and not on my head.
NYC employees falcons. Some large buildings and bridges are homes to falcons who are the natural predator to pigeons.

The cemetery is full of hawks -- red tail and Cooper's. Not too many pidgeons, etc over by Zinnia plot and the old Gun Hill Road gate. The city pidgeons are too smart for the hawks...the poor morning doves are toast.

.the poor morning doves are toast. Actually, it's mourning doves, and guess why they're mourning? Yep, 'cause Aunt Reba was some hawk's breakfast.
