We decided to visit Houdini's grave another time. Instead we went to Untermyer Park in Yonkers. This is the same park Born Again Christian serial killer Son of Sam David Berkowitz did his satanic rituals. I did see some strange engravings on one wooden bench but I think it was some kids who did it. It would take a psychopath to desecrate this small and beautiful park. We walked through most of it absorbing some of the Grecian architecture and grounds layout. Its a very pretty and peaceful place to contemplate and absorb nature. This is the first time I was there and I'd like to go back in the summer when thousands of Tulips will be blooming.

When we were kids we used to talk about the hauntings and stuff that supposedly went on there.........There was talk about satan worship going on there way back in the 70's.............My brother and some friends said they went there at night and just outside some area they heard what sounded like chanting and screams........(I never believed him anyway) but you would not get me up there at night........

my older sister, my MUCH older sister was a teenager around the "Son of Sam" days and I remember my mom and dad being upset that she was going out. The teens did all go to the park to explorer after the news broke of the satanic worship just to see if it were for real. I'm told nothing was ever discovered The park is beautiful and I do believe it will always have the silly reputation, but it won't spoil it's beauty.

Samuel Untemeyer is buried at Woodlawn. Very cool gravesite designed by famed sculptress Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney.

I LOVE cemetery's... no its not a goth thing, I think they have a certain energy to them. Their is a most interesting one in Brooklyn and in Hawthorne I've seen Babe Ruth's grave, thats very interesting. Also in Hartsdale on Central Avenue their is an old pet cemetery, thats very interesting to walk around and explore.

I have family buried in hartsadale..or WHITE PLAINS actually. Going all the way back. I did my genealogy and when I seen that my ex drove me down there to see the graves and gather the info for my search...Very Cool indeed. Woodlawn is friggin huge...........From 233 st to gunhill rd.........Got some dead peeps in there too.........I dont really like cemetary's at night, but you are right about the energy during the day. We got some oldy but goodies up here, including one very secretive and ( What I call montgomery's shame) ....An old slave/black cemetary........ (I Believe we still have secret kkk up here in parts. ) I went there and it is so sad, no head stones, some ppl in vain tried to carve relatives names in rock. It is very small and at one time ppl dumped trash in there, I still seen some off to the side when I went.
