Since New York State has many geographic regions, this is to see if anyone is interested in a specific WNY Message Board. People in this area often have more things in common with TO than NYC and LI.

I have never heard of the term "Southern New York." Ask your neighbors what they think of the term.

No it is considered "down state" as far as i know. Anyone who lives past Albany is considered downstate, unless you live up near the northern border.

Western New York, The Southern Tier, Central New York, Upstate, Down State, The Catskills, The Adirondacks, The Hudson Valley region, NYC, Long Island and the tri counties area...
New York has to be the only state where it's residents can have an identity crisis as to what there geographic location is.
For the record i'm just south of Rochester, however you want to classify it.
Have a good one all.

Hi Kat Luvr , I live in Orange County also and just five minutes away from Woodbury Commons Outlet LOL and according to there directions Orange County is considered to be Southern New York and I never knew that until I went online to find a store I was looking for. Hope this helps you.

Welcome to MatchDoctor money_bags! Hopefully more singles from our area will sign up with this free mate-finding site. By the way, do you have any single girlfriends who don't own pets?

Plenty of Fish always has members sponsoring parties around Buffalo. On June 14th at 7pm there is a party at
JACOBIS RESTAURANT & NITE CLUB 1404 Abbott Rd Lackawanna, NY 716.825.5544
For the Niagara Falls party check out:
Cruisers SATURDAY JULY 26, @ 7 pm 98 th st @ Porter Rd Niagara Falls NY 14304 716.297.4949
Hope this helps. By the way, I am from Amherst, just north of Buffalo, which makes me a WNY'er, but I used to live in Savona, NY, so I was a Central New Yorker.

Anyone who wants to know what people are like in Buffalo and WNY only has to know and remember that NBC's Tim Russert was the best of Buffalo. Bye Tim.

The "Rock the Barn" concert is held near Main and Shimerville and it is this weekend. It should've been advertised in the Amherst Bee. It is $15 at the gate.

Hi WNY ;-) Notice my screen name! I joined this group recently and saw this message board....thought I would throw in my 2 cents. I was born and raised in Rochester, NY, moved to Buffalo in 1983 with my now Ex-husband, been here ever since. I have grown to love the area (inspite of the weather and teasing). I don't think you have a full appreciation for sports until you live here. It was one of the first things I noticed along with the people being friendlier ;-) Buffalo and the WNY area are definately all American. There is so much diversity and things to do. I saw a question on Singles events....Eastern Hills Westleyan Church out in Clarence and The Chapel at Crosspoint have active Single ministries. I attended a very good seminar that both churches sponored called "Love, Sex and Lasting Relationships" a couple of months ago. That is, if you are into self-improvement and learning. I don't know about anyone else but I want my next relationship to be emotionally healthy and last for the rest of my life. No more divorce crap for me. Until next time......have a great rest of the week.
