Well, I am one of the few here who is not in the military, or not in any way connected to the military (no family members, friends, etc.). I found a job here shortly after college and accepted it because it's near the beach and close to one of my favorite towns, Wilmington. I graduated from UNCW and have always been a beach guy, so I wanted to stay close to the coast.

Jacksonville's not the greatest place in the world, but it's not near the worst either lol

Hey those outer banks are just where I grew up, raised on the albermarle sound...ahhh the good ole bake n broil days, you know when I was young and foolish and didnt know about the sun damage etc

Used to lie out on an ole pier till I got too hot, roll over and slash...not hot anymore! Oh man those were the days! Took my portable record player (telling my age here) with a few friends we would dance and and dance, jump off the pier, belly flop, feet first...come Sept skinny dipping! Yes I love my Carolina!

UR love, we've had some similar travels throughout NC. I was born in Raleigh, lived in Henderson, Greensboro, spent most of my young life in Winston-Salem, graduated high school in Raleigh, went to college in Wilmington, lived in Rockingham, Southern Pines and now in Jacksonville. I prefer the East because I'm a big beach guy, but it's fun to visit the mountains because they are so breathtaking and good for adventure :)

Welcome aboard. I grew up in eastern NC. We still call it Little Washington and always did, back when we would kick butt against the Pam Pack.
