I used to live with my husband and three children in
North Dakota-----we had 9 months of snow and ice while
we were there... We lived in Mountain N.D.

Hi Macadu. I was in the Minot area last year. I've never been there in the winter, thank goodness. My uncle sends me pictures of all the snow.

There are ND guys online. Most are pretty nice, but a couple turned out to be phony. Dark_Angel is likely right, smart ones left and only hurt users left. I used to have awesome friends when I was growing up and we popped over the border. Some of these guys sure have changed.
The last couple ND's that I talked to on here were married. Got pretty burned from trusting a good old farm boy this year, so I got my gal pals online and in the areas to do some checking. Thank goodness I did.
After six years, I have decided there must be something in the ND/SK water. The last four were all married and two before said they were divorced and then I found out not officially!
ND people rock but dating the single guys can sure start to change perceptions.

HI there well i am from nd and i have been to a lot of places but always seem to return here i don't know i might just be used to the weather but i don't think it ishat bad love the people here where else could you have people stop and talk with you although you have never met them before and i don't mean bother you either just see you and say hello or if you are in trouble they will stop and help you out and not expect anything in return but that you help the next person lol

Most still have an awesome people attitude. A couple of weeks ago I was down and got a flat and couldn't find my jack!
Didn't want to bug some people and waited for a car to come by with a cell. Two people stopped, helped take off my tire, put the spare on, and followed me into town in case the shop had closed. Then turned back around to go twenty minutes the other way? Gotta love it! :)

Hi, I'm from North Dakota too. Born and raised here.
I take issue with the idea that all the smart ones left.  North Dakota life is what you make of it, in my opinion.

I live in North Dakota.
THe lady that wrote in telling of how ND has 9 months of ice and snow. She never lived here and never knew what month it is. It is never like that here at all. She must have been in Alaska.
ND has 4 regular seasons of the year. There are some winters where it is warmer here than it is in Arizona.
Last summer it got up to 110 degress in July for 3 days.
ND is that kind of a state where the people are friendly and small towns here are quiet and peacefull. You don't even have to lock your doors at night. It is safe to live here.
If ND is such a bad place then why are people from the huge metro areas of the country moving back here to retire.

Yep! I am from ND and actually I have come to like it here. The winters are getting more miild as seasons go by. Well, Larry, you may not lock your doors but things have changed in Minot. Nothing compared to the big cities though. So if you are still working up in my neck of the woods, you mentioned a cup of coffee. Sorry about the missed call...Hey MD ladies! This is a super nice guy!

im from north dakota and it is a great place ive lived in the south the southwwest and the west coast i cant think of a better place to let kids grow up than right here in nd.

hi,
Im in north dakota. I am originally from south dakota. I have lived all over the US. I live in dickinson which is on the west side of the states. It is a misconception that we have tons of snow. I could send pics, it is bone dry right now. We have hardly had any snow all winter. It just depends on some years depending on how much moisture we have. It was in the 50's today which is pretty decent. I like it here. I have two kids and it is a good place to raise kids. I guess it is hard to find men because most of them work on the farm or ranch. Thats what happens in a state where there are alot of cattle, livestock, and livelihood depending on the crop. i would like to meet more people yes, but that is my own fault, for i go from work to home. I am hoping to meet some fun people on here. Thanks for the great posts for this question. it was great that someone asked
