How often?

Okay, not sure if this has been covered in here before, but I've had this question come up a couple of times lately, so I thought I'd post it here. How often do most couples have sex while in a relationship? A lot of my girlfriends seem to think two or three times a week is fine, but I know some who think that's not enough. My last relationship it was everyday, which I thought was good. It worked for us. What's your opinion?

I think everyday is ideal but at least 5 days a week for sure to keep things exciting and to fill those wants and desires.

 This is more of a quality issue than a quantity one. I would trade alot of the normal f***ings for some really great sex. If that makes any sense.

I think this is a 'how long is a piece of string' question. Like some of the other posters have said, it's entirely dependent on the people involved. The only difficulty arises (no pun intended)when one partner has much higher expectations than the other. The you get frustration and misunderstandings at best and anger, resentment and infidelity at worst.
My best friends, who've been married for eighteen years (she's ten years younger than he is) have sex 4 or 5 times a week, but my neice who just got married and is 6 months pregnant is at it like a rabbit with her hubby. And I mean like a rabbit, at least three or four times a day. I know, because I've walked in on them more than once. Not that it bothered them. So I guess it all depends.

Alectryon-During pregnancy, that's really not that uncommon. It's actually closer to the norm. Major hormones, ya know?
I've only been with one guy that I had to say "OK, enough. I need a break." Until him it was always them saying "dammit woman, again?" But not everybody is like that. Some are OK with a couple times a week. It's all about personal preferences.

3 times a week in a relationship?! That would signal that something is wrong. Hell, I have sex with myself more often than that! Once a day at the minimum. Twice a day would be about right. Morning and night, maybe an occaisional nooner.

Once every month or so...if I do the backrub, clean the house, brush her hair, buy her flowers routine.

My ex became my ex because she thought once every 7-10 days was good.. 
As said above...I made up the difference :)(but it's not the same or satifying) But I would be more then happy with 3+ times..

I think to much emphasis is put on how many times sex happens rather then how good is it when it does happen.
And yes.. I do still have sex.. quite often matter of fact

From my experience, in the beginning of a relationship there's always more sex... usually every day..
However, it slows down over the years...
With my ex-wife, we had sex at least once a day (often more than that) before we got married.. After we married it went down to 3 - 4 times per week, later 1 - 2 times per week, later once per wee, and in the last year once per month...
In my last long term relationship (after my relationship with my ex-wife ended), we had sex just about every day for the first year or so and later 3 - 4 times per week.. Never got married to her and the amount of sex always stayed about the same...
