Having worked behind the counter at an adult video store,I became aware of how much sex toys cost and how much the company paid for them wholesale.My shop didn't branch into that business and just sold and rented videos which I was thankful for since that meant one more thing I had to worry about being shoplifted.
The markup on these things is astronomical.Also,in talking to people who use them and are willing to talk about it,I have found out that the majority of folks who I talked to say the toys crap out after only a few uses and most always an embarrassed woman will have to get her favorite dildo rewired by a technically inclined friend.
Now these things are between 70 to 200 bucks!When you look inside them,they're wired like a cheap flashlight and what you end up paying for is the packaging and the fact they carry some famous porn star's picture and name on it.
Like porn,toys have become a multi billion dollar industry, are they all made this poorly?The longest I've ever known of any toy lasting more than a few months with moderate use has been about three months.If it was a TV or a washer-dryer,consumers wouldn't stand for it.Why should consumers have to up with bad workmanship in sex toys?

Cheap sex toys breakin on ya huh? Build your own! Go buy a 1/2" hammer drill and a piece of 5"x1' dowel rod. Whittle a nice cock head shape on the rod, trill a hole in the base and insert a piece of 3/8 hex steel for a shaft attachment. and epoxy it in. When the epoxy is dry, insert your new home made sex toy into the hammer drill and go to work on that thing.

I had one for years and it still worked, I have also had one that only worked a few times.  Really liked that one too!  I one that lasted the longest was the cheapest... Figure that one out.
Touch, hate to tell you this, being such a fine idea you had there, BUT I would be afraid of getting a splinter, and I do like a bit of flexibility. Thats just me. Some women have used some things I would never dream of, so what ever trips their trigger.

Doggone I'm never gonna do anything anymore with that dang cat watching me!!
P.S. I have some toys that I've had for several years and no sign of wearing out yet. Guess it depends on what kind and how much use it gets?
