I'm sure that you have all heard of the horrifying incident in the Tacoma, Wa. area. That guy needs burned at the stake.
Anyway, about a month ago I was watching one of those news chanels and they were discussing the skinny dipping problem they were having in Missouri.
Apparently there is some island in Missouri, I assume the Mississippi River, and alot of adults go out there to drink and skinny dip. Now apparently the law is busting these people for skinny dipping. I guess that women can swim topless but have to keep their bottms on as do men. The consequences are being arrested and charged with a sex offense and having to register as a Class C sex offender for the rest of their lives.
Should this be anywhere in the same text book as an actual child molester?

Skinny-dipping the same as child molesting?? I think not. And if these are all adults who are doing the skinny dipping then it should not be a problem. Just post the area for trespassing, but not as a sex offense. Another example of carrying things too too far.

Just my opinion, but I think this "sex offender" stuff has gotten way out of hand. Like many things that started out as good ideas (register perverts and keep an eye on them), politicians and do-gooders have jumped on it and expanded it to include all sorts of things never intended. Just as an example, in my state, urinating in public can get you charged with indecent exposure, and if you're convicted you have to register as a sex offender. How stupid is that? You're going down some desert road and have to stop and piss behind a bush, and BAM a Deputy catches you and you're a registered sex offender for life.

Lifelong registration is no longer mandatory for minor offenses. It may be a few years they have to register, but it won't be a lifetime.

That said, they shouldn't be registered at all in my opinion.

Most states require individuals who are guilty of violating a certain class felony to register as a sex offender. This would include a teenaged boy having consentual sex with a teenaged girl in those states without Romeo and Juliet exemptions to their statutory rape laws as well as an actual pedophile. And yes, these people are required to register. Their names and addresses go up online.

Then that means the lists are worse than useless since many of the names on them are not actual sex offenders.

It is at the Lake of the Ozark, and is referred to as *Party Cove*

That depends on what state you're in. In Nevada, once you're a registered sex offender, you're on the list for life. In addition to being on the list there are other restrictions, you can't live or work within a 1000 feet of a school or day care, you have to report any change of address to the police within 48 hours, etc.

I worked as a guard in a sex offender facility for a few years and I have seen what incarcerated S.O.s are capable of. They lie, play mind games, manipulate, hurt anyone who is trying to help them, and generally will do anything to find a way to abuse another human being. I have read their case files and have been sickened by what they have done to destroy adult's, kid's, animal's, and their family's lives. So to put a skinny dipper or a person urinating in public in the same category in any capacity is sheer madness.

I honestly think it scars a person to work with this type of clientele..........I lost a good part of myself working amongst monsters. I hope someday to be whole again.

Most people are not offended by sex......they are offended by the abuse of others to get sex, etc. I am not offended by sex, I am offended by people who do not care who they hurt or destroy to get sex.
