I guess they actually are.
Also referred to as ... soul patch.
Do we like them? I like mine, although some have said it can be a little rough during major kissing.
Preferences?

I love all facial hair as long as it doesn't resemble an overgrown "mountain man" look. If you guys want us to keep it neat down in the bushes, then let's not forget to keep the lines looking nice. A little effort lets us know that you at least tried to look good..

I love facial hair as long as it is trimmed and symetrical (have seen lopsided goatees). Nothing is sexier than a goatee on a bald man. Makes the smile all that more appealing.. examples: Sam Elliott, Sean Connery, Kenny Rogers, my friend Steve (a/k/a shutterbug).. gives them a little more of the bad boy combo with the gentleman he naturally is.

I like 'em... one of my friends at work (the 30 year old virgin)recently decided to grow the Flavor Saver, and I commented, calling it that..then had to explain what I meant...he blushed big time, but hasn't shaved it yet...Hmmmm...

I LOVE facial hair. . .
But I've gotta agree with no "mountain man" beards. . .oh yeah. . .no handlebar mustaches either. . .
A close trimmed beard, a nice mustache/goatee, a Fu Manchu mustache. . .yeah, I like 'em all. . .
Add a nice hairy chest and I'm putty. . .

YES....BALD WITH GOATEE YUMMY!
Yes, it must be well trimmed and symetrical. Another thing that helps is using conditioner on it! If they really love you, they'll do it!

I grow a beard for the winter months, because I spend a lot of time outdside. I know women say they love facial hair as long as it is trim, but to put another spin on it, they don't like the "graybeards". I am a young guy, yet my beard gets more gray with each passing year, I actually look like I am about 35 years old without it, but about fifty with it. So women, how much do you like a gray beard?

If its Salt and Pepper.. even better!
My hubby usually has a goatee but in the winter he grows a full beard because he works outside and says it keeps him warmer. Just keep it neat and tidy
And Gahh Dont dye it! EwWw

I have a baby face. I can go three or four days without shaving and no one will pay much notice.
If I grew a beard, it would win the ugly beard contest going away.
I tried to grow a moustache and goatee once, when I was about 35. Six weeks into it I got tired of waiting for it to "fill in." I broke out the razor and Edge gel, and that was that. It must be the Native American blood in me.

the bald head thing...
i'm lucky enough to have a lot of great hair... (on the head only).
it's suprising to me that so many women appreciate the clean shaven head.
is it just more suggestive of a penis?
is the flavor saver as appealing on a guy with a full head of hair?
i get the bad boy crap already... add that to the mix, and i'll be up to my ass in things i probably can't handle.

the bald thing.....hard to explain really...but dont worry i'll try. i think its just the thought of them having a smooth head...with that damn goatee..ummmmmm i love just thinking about it.
some women like facial hair and some do not. all depends on what you like...personally...a little "soul patch" turns me on.

As for why the bald and fantastic goatee is so appealing to many women.. it makes these little sparks from his eyes reflect off the bald head (jk)... but there is just something really electrifying about this combination. Another of life's unexplained mysteries as to why people are attracted to different types and looks.
I guess it does add to that bad boy flavor, but in a really, really nice way. Makes you want to have that goatee (symetrical, trimmed and conditioned) gently touching your lips while your hands run all over the smooth surface of his head. Then you can gently stroke his goatee while staring into his bright twinkling eyes.. oh yeah!!!

I don't like mustaches or beards but I do love well trimmed/shaped goatees, and the 5 o'clock shadow look. Actually, I do like beards if the beards are thin and shaped just around the jaw line with a goatee (And I really like it if a guy has longer side burns, not too long but longer than short).
Ain't gonna be no kissin' though if a guy has a goatee but the rest of his face isn't smooth
Hurts so kissin isn't fun. End up with a burned chafed chin ...us ladies have sensitive facial skin ya know guys
And while 5 o'clock looks kool no kissin' going on with that one either...I'm with britmadden....ya gotta be smooth guys Smooth
