I was wondering if anyone has any good stories that they don't know if it is a myth or a truth. I heard of a teen age girl setting on her parents bed after her parents had had sex there that night and the girl ended up being pregnant and the father was the dad. Apparently the only drawn conclusion was that she had set in the infamous "wet spot." First off I'm sure the "juices of life" could not travel through whatever clothing the girl was wearing and if that wasn't the case then why would the girl be setting on her parents bed in any fashion that would cause pregnancy. What about the having sex in a hot tub will kill the sperm so it's safe to have unprotected sex? I'm a little naive on these things so any comments or stories?

Doug, I would have to say the story you related is untrue...I don't think those little guys can swim quite that strongly.....LOL (And, as to her sitting in her parents' "wet spot"....can you say "eyuwwwww"?)
However, one myth is the 'pull out before it's too late, to avoid pregnancy' one....some of the little guys are faster than the others and don't wait until the last minute.....

Yeah, I'd heard that about the pulling out but I was informed that the little guys aren't always the ones to come out first. I didn't realize that little bit of semen that comes out to help moisturize was also full of life. Being a guy who wont ask questions or learn anything more than what is needed to make it work that fact just totally escaped me. What about the standing on your head after sex to help induce pregnancy? Is that legitimate?

This is a truth about sex which I didnt know. One of my sons friends got gonorreah from a girl who gave him oral sex. No intercourse involved. I didnt have a clue

Hi everyone been awhile since I have been on match dr.. But Im gonna put my 2 senses in.. 
I was just reading some of these post that yall put here and I would like to say umm im not sure who posted it but i know that u cant terminate a pregnancy by sitting in a hot bath but i know hot water makes the little buggers come faster when u are already in labor.. 
I would have to say my favorite myth is I PROMISE ITS THE FIRST TIME U CANT GET PREGGERS!!!! OR YOUR ON YOUR PERIOD WHAT CAN HAPPEN??

I got similar to yours Painter. I was in construction and I was core drilling a hole through the floor of the band room of a Jr, Hi. School. I saw these tiny bugs on the window sill and I called my boss over and asked "what are theses?" He said the were crabs (I had never seen one and I was 26 yro). Well 2 days later I had a itching in my pubic area. I could not get it to stop itcing, so one night I went to the bathroom and looked very closely and I'll be damed If I didn't have the crabs. Why am I telling you this...because you don't have to have sex with someone who has crabs to get them.

Unfortunately, this one is not just a "myth" , but more like an "excuse" used commonly by incestial family members to cover the truth - either in their court statements or just as "story" for friends and neighbors in cases where underaged girl was impregnated by her father , brother, uncle, mother's boyfriend or father's buddies after getting drunk watching ballgame in their house . Everyone knows the truth ( from biological point of view the "excuse" is ridiculous) , but everyone prefer to pretend that they believe this BS....except Judges, who listen to this "myth" daily

i read recently that crabs are like lice. Not related to sexual intercourse. So you can just make out and they could jump on you. The story said they are easy to get rid of though.

Yep, the thing about crabs is very true.
In my early 20's I had a roommate. I'd went away for the weekend, and she decided to have sex in my waterbed. What's even worse is she failed to tell me this, AND she didn't even wash the sheets. Several days later, my crotch is itching like mad, and she fesses up. I ended up with crabs because she had sex! How unfair is that?
Best way to get rid of the little buggars? Shave!
This made me remember something.
In a bar I used to go to, there was a sign posted on the inside of the stall doors. . .
Don't throw toothpicks in the toilet, crabs can pole vault!!
Yeah. . .didn't use those bathrooms.

Getting rid of crabs...I used camphophanic (sp). Poured all over the pubic's and let it sit for 10-15 mins and got in the shower and and bathed and wha-la...no more crabs. They can't get a grip on anything oily.

When I worked as a Correctional Officer, I had a guy in my pod that was complaining that his bunky had crabs. I called medical and they told me to give the guy a piece of scotch tape to "use" then bring it down to them. Talk about gross and double gloving. Then after I took it to them they had me bring him down for treatment. AFTER HE was treated, they told me the little buggers can jump 20 FEET!  (don't know if they can or not) I do know I went home itching and had to explain to my husband. No, I didn't get them, but just talking about them makes me itch.

I thought I heard it all, then I watched the show mythbusters...yeah well this sex myth said that if a girl (don't know who in their right mind would do this) shook up a coke bottle and held it close enough to her vaginal area so that she could insert it after popping the top off, the foaming of the soda would prevent pregnancy after an unprotected evening. I was like WHAT? The medical expert on the show said if any woman was stupid enough to do that, she deserves the horrible yeast infection that would follow such an event...and i am thinking...oh lord...all the syrup and sugar...good lord. I know that myth is way before my time...but I was shocked to hear it.
and as far as all of this crab talk...ew. just ew.

oh douge36, unless the sperm had a mini scissors, they couldn't get through the clothing of the girl..who..um...was sick enough to sit in the wet spot. That is a myth by far!! So let's say, for arguments sake, that she sat there without clothes on...in said wet spot. ew. After vaginal intercourse, the sperm either die from weakness, from the effort of swimming upstream, or from the environment of the vagina. Basically, that is why most sperm don't make it to the egg. Now, these sperm didn't even get the chance of being released into the vagina to begin with. That would mean they would have to find the vaginal opening, find a way to get in there on their own...and then go through the normal swimming upstream which normally kills most of them in and of itself. So that notion that she could get pregnant after sitting there...is just not possible.
But I will argue this, after being in a horrific car accident, and the doctor tells the guy he can't have kids....use condoms anyway. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Just ask my son's father. (this one is not a myth!)

The wet spot myth has a close cousin.There was also a myth about a virgin who spends a night in a hotel room where,the night before,a man had masturbated in the bath tub.The virgin takes a bath in the same tub and,yes,you guessed it,she got pregnant.I'm wondering how may times someone has told that to someone who believed it and prepared for the Second Coming.
Then there's my personal favorite,a man slips some Spanish Fly into his date's drink and while he's waiting for it to take effect,he stops at a liquor store,leaving his date in the car.When he returns,he finds his date dead ,slumped over the dash straddling his stickshift.
Oddly enough,the myth of Spanish Fly still pops up.I had a teenage cousin who swears a guy put some Spanish Fly into her drink,even getting another bunch of teens to fight with the dude over it.Some myths die hard.
