I just saw a commercial on TV for Cosmetic Gynecology. Some of their services are: tightening the vagina (particularly if you have had children vaginally), liposuction of the vulva for unwanted fat, hymenoplasty (restoring the hymen), and a perineoplasty (to repair the perinium) and a procedure that creates a more youthful and aesthetically appealing vulva.
Are they serious? Man has plastic surgery came this far? Imagine the gifts that women will get from their spouses/boyfriends now? "Honey you need a tighter Vagina." Of course I would just tell him he needs a bigger dick.

I agree Di... why would someone want that? How could it be medically necessary? Just wondering.

The barbaric practice of female circumcision...a valid reason...to restore "normal" genetalia.

Di..I had never thought of that one. Thanks. As horrible as it is for many young women to have to go through.

Ya know...I wouldn't be surprised if the medical community developed some of these "cosmetic" techniques through the reconstructive surgeries of female circumcision victims! Undoubtedly, a lot of research and study went into the technology and they (of course) figured out how to make more money from it!

I first heard about hymenoplasty back in the '80's. Female students from the Mideast--where female virginity is almost mandatory--chose to enjoy a sexual relationship while they were studying in the US, but had a hymenoplasty to restore their virginity before they went home and got married. That was when I first learned of the often vicious double standard of behavior that still exists in so many cultures.
I also totally agree that clitorectomy or female circumcision is the most barbaric and loathsome custom that humanity has ever devised.

I think I'd shorten that to "You're a big dick"
But that's me....

I was just about ready to start a thread on why people choose to remain single based on this U.S. government website.
http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/releases/archives/facts_for_features_special_editions/002265.html
but something came to my mind after I read the OP's first post.
I am thinking that the original idea may allow many marriages to survive and would deter men from cheating with younger women or prostitutes.
It goes along the lines that sex gratification would be as good as it was in the earlier days. Nice & tight.
