Well, I'm thinking about cooking a cornish hen, 1 carrot, a pearl onion, 2 bread crumbs and picking up a pumpkin muffin at Dunkin Doughnuts if even my own sister can't make dinner! Anyone else by themselves? I try and have fun with the dogs, say it won't bother me.. but how can't it? Was wondering how others "handle" Holidays alone....

AWWWWWWWWWWW! that sucks..seriously, you can always come to my house for dinner. ok, my house is little and crappy, and my kids cry a lot, but no one should be alone on a holiday, and not having mashed taters on thanksgiving.

I treat it like any other day of the year. A can of spaghetti, some noodle soup if I'm feeling ambitious. A long walk in the park with wildlife to keep me company. Playing some music by a stream. I'll ride the motorcycle if there's no hint of snow or ice.

Life is good. Having someone to share it with would be better, sure. But if I sat around and moped about what I don't have, I wouldn't take much joy in what I do have.

You've given me an idea, however. . . . I do like cornish hen. . . .

I wanted to fix my 70 year old parents thanksgiving dinner. But they said it was too much to do for 3 people. So, Alas, my first Thanksgiving Alone. I will probably watch a bunch of realty shows on tv and make a pork steak.

Sorry to hear that ya'll... that simply sucks! If I'd have known sooner, ya'll would have been more than welcome to our T-day.... I'm about done making dinner for 30+ people, and a few more wouldn't have been a bother... the last stuffed turkey (I made two and my sis made one) will be out of the oven around 2/2:30... made all the fixings except mashed taters last night... sis is making mashed taters... lol
Maybe next year! Hope ya'll have a good day with whatever you decide to do and we'll send T-day thoughts your way when we sit down to dinner.

HUGS......

I figured Id celebrate the way the Pilgrims did, and go squirrel hunting! I also concluded that had I been hunting squirrels on behalf of the Pilgrims, there would not have been much of a feast, so I will give thanks for DEER!
