How do you traditionally spend New Year's Eve?
Do you do the same thing every year or do you do something different each year?
Do you like to have a rowdy evening ..... or one that is quiet and calm ? Do you stay up until midnight to ring the New Year in ........ or do you go on to bed early with the thoughts that it is going to be a new year whether you are awake or asleep ? Do you make any special munchies to eat while you are watching TV or partying as you await the new year ....... Or do you nuke leftovers, watch the news, then head for bed ? Do you prefer to spend it alone ?...... with your favorite pet(s) ? ........ with a date ? ........ with a friend ? ............ or with a group of people ?
How will you spend this New Year's Eve?

Me, I have no plans so far, other than the same thing I did the last two years. And that was to spend the evening watching TV & movies with my cats (my newest one likes to occasionally slap anything that makes a lot of movement on the TV), eating a few munchies, watching the ball in Time Square drop at midnight (again at our time), then run outside at the stroke of midnight to watch all the fireworks and listen to all the guns going off. By the sound of things this morning, someone was sighting in a big one.
I would love to do something different, like basically the same thing with friends, playing board games and/or cards and maybe everyone give each other a hug at midnight. That would be a really good evening. Or even with just one friend ...... or get really lucky and have a date . But I am just not into the BIG wild party thing.

Going all out this year. Went to Wally world already and got my party supplies. A 2 liter bottle of Dr.Pepper and two, count 'em, 2 pans of Jiffy pop. Why who knows I might even stay up till 11:00.

I sang in bands for the first part of my life, so I was always performing in some bar somewhere for NYE. When I married, I had three kids so I spent those 20 years or so at home for NYE. My ex outlaws live in Hawaii so we tried to get there for the fireworks a few times. For the past 8 years of single-hood I have tried to stay out of the way of the amateurs on the roads, but I still try to find a good fireworks display. Even if I have to do it myself .
This year I will be in Oregon (Google Timber, OR and you'll see its somewhere between Booger Holler and Gawdforsaken, and actually close to Timbuktu (for real)) getting ready to fly home. I used to miss the NW until I came here for the holidays. Last winter it started snowing Christmas day and didn't stop until Feb 20. This year, I've been snowbound (4.5 feet in one week) without water, elec and passable roads for the first 4 days of my trip. I missed my snowboarding weekend. boo. I am SO ready for Tulsa and a good ice storm!
Mom your party sounds perfect. It will be 10am my time, so easy for me. I'll bring the Big Bear 6 mortar 4 inch. mmmm fireworks...

I agree! I don't like that ice. But I can't imagine snow that many days in a row, either.

The only problem with that logic is when you are snowbound with annoying relatives. After 4 days I am begging to go back to work!
OK, my bad about the ice.
