Hi, Redwicket --
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (locally known as OSF) starts in February and runs until some time in October! They used to say "Stay four days; see four plays," but these days they've got several things going at any given time! That's a LONG way from our Kampout, though -- not a likely option for us this trip.
One thing I did find out about, though, is that Yachats, just north of our Kampground, is having their monthly Big Band concert/dance on Thursday evening, August 2, for any earlybird arrivers. Kare to dance?

Hi, Josh --
You can find all the details posted on the forum headed "Oregon Singles Campout." The gathering will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the 3rd through the 5th of August, at Washburne Campground, 14 miles north of Florence, on the inland side of Highway 101. There are State Parks maps you can access through links Redwicket has posted. Yes, by all means, bring along your women friends!

I've been watching this forum and the events posting, a lot of people are reading them. My question is Why aren't more people joining in and taking part? I mean EVERYONE says that they want to meet other singles, here is a fun, safe and inexpensive way to do just that...and at the very least you will come out of the campout with new friends and a new experience under your belt.
Now, what is the hold up? Are there questions that need answered?
You know what they say people~ If you don't participate in Life, It WILL pass you by...

Or, on a more positive note:
When you DO participate in Life, it CAN"T pass you by!
Carpe diem: "Seize the day!" ... and join us for a fun outing!

Whether you have noticed it or not, thre thread, pasting, blog, whatever about the oregon Singles Oarty is now in the other threads. This is due to the fact that Josuha has posted 5 in a row, thus knocking the thread off the board.
We have 5 men and 3 women that have said they will come. I have contacted others who said previously they would come when it was being taken care of by Wes. I have had no contact from them. I contacted some close to the area where it is to be held such as Newport, Junction City, Eugene, etc. A couple were very interested. They hadn't heard about it. Evidently they don't read blogs. Smiling Blonde in Lakeview said it really meant a committment to here as it was a 7 hour drive. SallyE in Baker has not answered.
We really need to have more than 8 people for the function. However, that is maybe what we will have to start with and build on it through the years if it works out.

As SallyF said on page 7, Take a deep breath Phil.
There is plenty of time, with all of us working on it of course it will be a success. No matter the number, I know that I will have a great time!
And, people interested can also get to the Oregon Singles Campout to RSVP by using the Events on the bar above...
No worries

Well, i am not as up on all these things as you are. I just remember when Wes was doing this. June 2 was here and gone in a flash.
I will stop putting my comments on here. I seem to get shot down every time I do!
Have fun!! I'm gone!!!

JoyMongerJim (don't you love that name?) posted on the events for everyone to bring their instruments...The girlfriend that I'm bringing is bringing her Guitar, and I am bringing my Clacker (which has been a hit at drum circles in the past)...I have two Didgeridoos, but I am still too shy to play them in public...so am leaving them home.
What fun, singing and playing around the campfire.

Hey, if anyone is coming Highway 38 through Reedsport...if you stopped at Salmon Harbor and picked up some Oysters I would be willing to kick in on them! Yummy... Oysters! And Salmon Harbor has the best, way better than the ones from around New Port (No offence New Port).

Dose though say thine heralds of venus beckon to the ides of march, though a man may start out in life as a child slowly crawling spewing becking for tis mother to come and hold him and sing to him. Then the days of his spring, when all the joys linger for him from the bounty of pan, dancing singing courting young lady's and beckons to the dares of fortitude. Trough the trials of manhood he dares and stairs at fate tempting and pleading with tasks in life to prove to his love that he is the man she should love. At last, he is hunched over, where he has though started upon all fours, begging at times, he learned to only use two while running through the spring of life. Now as he lays in bed looking to the loo he wonders to himself, goddamn cane now I am on threes.

Lovely Heartfelt...
But, this forum really is for communicating about the campout...why not start a thread just of poetry? This one already takes days to read through...
Those looking for Traveling Companions could also start a separate thread, then others looking for the same can easily find them. ...just a thought.

That was poetry huh! Wow! Thanks Red, I wanted to say the same thing myself. Good job gal! Looks like a few more are planning to come. We last one down here, she disappeared. It was painter007. She has left us it seems. I was glad to see that Wes was wanting to come. Good deal. Afterall, he was the one who originated the whole deal. It will be good to see him.

Is anyone willing to make up some name plate, labels, whatever so we can pin/stick on ourselves when we get there. Just so we are able to see who is who. Some paper labels with our screen name..Any suggestions?

Sure Wes, that is a piece of cake!! We have done that at my class reunions every year. Let me tell you, there have been quite a few. The labels can be picked up ar Wal Mart, Bi Mart, etc and aren't expensive. I wouldn't mind doing it. Also we would need a Sharpie or such to write with. Anybody have a color preference????
I am glad to see you are coming Wes. Maybe you have really started a fun time. We shall see.
Hope we get more to sign up and come. I see a couple I invited are signed up. that's great!!
Take care everyone!!
