Woke up this morning to one heck of a snow storm...Big fat fluffy flakes coming down in profusion, Absolutely Beautiful. For the coastal range it's quite a storm. Yesss, time to dig out the snowshoes!!!

Didn't get any snow here on the valley floor, but the hills, and mountains that surround my home has snow clear down to almost the base.

How wondrous! We still have rain and winds a'blowing in Beaverton. I was visiting in Eugene yesterday and left just before the snow began---all the better for driving, but it would have been fun to see and play in. I miss living in Baker City, with the snow and sunshine (sigh)

You were wise to get the flock out of dodge...My Mom said that there were lots of really bad accidents. Some melted this afternoon and then the freezing fog came in, so I'll bet the road will be slick tomorrow.

We got at least two or three inches last night. I thought it would be gone this morning ... Nada! The roads weren't too bad going to work. There is a lot more snow where I work. Between that and the fog, it is really beautiful. I even got to start a wood fire this morning. I was in seventh heaven! Yes!

I sooo miss having a fireplace...I have to go outside and have one in my firepit now. Ah well, it could be worse, I could live in a big city and not be able to even do that...at least I can listen to my creek bubbly while having a fire.

at least I can listen to my creek bubbly while having a fire. That would be awesome! All I would need other than that would be a cabin in the woods with a hot tub built in the deck. I had the rare opportunity once to be in a hot tub up in Butte Falls. It was out on someone's deck. While we were in it, it started snowing. It was such a treat! Roasting in a hot tub with snow flakes falling all around. It was during the day or all we would have needed would have been candles for candlelight. What a trip! I'll never forget it! It was a cool experience!

I just did. I am glad that your daughter is able to visit and spend time with you. That means a lot, especially for a dad.

Good timing, John! Enjoy that warmth. We've had only rain---and lots of it---here. Maybe I should landscape my yard with sponges.

On the stove??? My you were cold...
Because of the snow I discovered that there is a family of otters living close by...I went out to shovel the snow off of the bridge crossing the creek and there were otter tracks on it. The Siuslaw river is behind me, and the creek goes around the front of my house, a neighbor says that they play around his dock on the river in the summer...Hmmm, I wonder if they were the ones that took the suet cage that was hanging on my fence last winter...
