Here you go Red! I figured it out. Aren't you proud of me???
So now, where to have it. As Red said, it may be crowded at Silver Falls.
Any ideas folks? Any of you want to coordinate it?? Sure hope so!!

YESSS PHIL!!! I knew you could do it! I AM Proud of you
I wish that we could post a Bulletin on every person from Oregon's home page...but I'm pretty sure that they have to be on your friend's list to do that. That would be one heck of a friend list...
My favorite time of year for something like this would be after the kids go back to school, the early fall...don't have much worries then about crowds. And since it's taking so long this year for Spring to move into Summer, I'm thinking that we will be having an Indian summer
Actually if we want to be fair to people at both ends of the state then Eugene area is just about the exact middle...Has anyone heard of Triangle Lake? There is a little campground just outside of the little town that has one Heck of a Rockslide. It's a Really popular place in the summer, but in early fall it's not crowded...
I suggest that everyone check out their Maps and come up with some ideas...Can we get some feedback on who might be interested in doing another gathering???

No map Sally, but you can look it up on Map Quest. Here are directiobs!!
Triangle Lake, Oregon From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia • Ten things you may not know about images on Wikipedia •Jump to: navigation, search Triangle Lake.Triangle Lake is an unincorporated community[1] in Lane County, Oregon, United States. It is located about 25 miles (40 km) west of Junction City on Oregon Route 36, on the southwest side of the lake of same name. Triangle Lake is closely tied to the unincorporated community of Blachly, on the northeast side of the lake, and the two communities share a school district. Triangle Lake is served by the Blachly post office.[2]
Triangle Lake's only business, a store, burned on May 7, 2007, and it was uncertain if it would be salvageable, though the owners said they would rebuild.[3][4]
[edit] Lake The 293-acre (1.19 km²) lake has had various names over the years, including Loon Lake, Lake of the Woods, and Echo Lake, but the name Triangle Lake (after the lake's shape) became the official name in the early 1900s.[5] Before Fern Ridge Reservoir was completed in 1941, the lake was the most popular local spot for water sports.[5] Triangle Lake county park continues to feature facilities for boating, swimming, and fishing (including largemouth bass, bluegill, yellow perch, brown bullhead, kokanee, cutthroat trout, and pumpkinseed).[6] The lake is also popular for its rock slides.[7]

Bravo Phil! Hmmm, I didn't know Triangle was Loon...my father use to talk about the fishing at Loon lake...
Sally a map is a wonderful investment...there is So much in Oregon to see! I use mine ALL the time and keep it handy, next to my computer...then into the car when I go out and about.
But, I thought that if people checked out their maps they might come up with different locations as ideas, then perhaps we could do something a bit different and VOTE on it

Sorry, guys.....that was a tongue-in-cheek response to John's show up nekkid at the Hot Springs (as in, which hot springs???? jk)
If I weren't in the midst of transition, I'd love to jump in and help get something organized. BUT, I can't even make definitive plans for next week, say nothing of next month---real estate is a hurry-up-and-wait game; looking forward to closing! (whenever it is)

Obviously, Mother Nature doesn't wish for me to plan even ONE day ahead. I'm scheduled to drive to Baker City tomorrow to meet with my realtor, a moving estimator, and an inspector for my almost sold (I hope) house. There are 13-15" of new snow today in Meacham, and it's still snowing. Cabbage Hill could be a challenge!

Crooked River is about the middle of the state on the eastern side and there are several smaller campgrounds around there.

Don't you LOVE the Discovery Season rates??? It's wonderful on the coast, especially when there's an Indian summer.
I mean look at the Group site rates...from $64 to $43...cabins $70 to $48
I have heard of this park, but haven't ever camped there...

that is the thing about the east side it is always sooooo hot late in the summer. But this year..I don't know, we had two frosts last week on the mountain, summer hasn't even started.
I am thinking it is going to either be hot as hades in late summer, or no summer at all. J

How about Bandon sometime after the 10th of September? Or maybe Florence. Both places are great spots to meet and mingle. Personally I prefer Bandon.
