In reference to the moving bit, being a female, men usually always are available to help me move, so for me, that's not a very good measure of a true friend. A true friend in my eyes will drop everything they are doing if you are in need of them. A true friend will always listen to you and try to help you resolve your problems. Whereas an acquaintence will usually be busy when you need help or someone to talk to.
You will be lucky in life if you can count your true friends on one hand. People will come and go in your life, but a friend sticks with you through the changes you make to yourself. A friend loves your heart, not you newest pair of shoes...

Posts: 4 Also...a friend will "know" when you need them. They will do things for you that they know you need done without you having to ask them for it. They will volunteer to be a part of your life. You will always have to ask an acquaintance.
