Did ya know I had a cyst on the right side of my face until Sat night? I had this lump for 4+ years. I had heard about cysts and assumed it wasn't anything serious. it looked like I had chewin' tobaccah in my mouth. I went to a Dr this spring and he set me up to have outpatient surgery to remove it. he didn't want to drain it in the office b/c he said its close to a salivary? gland. then it was cancelled cause my insurance wouldn't cover very much of it. then, a miracle! Sat night I was brushin my teeth and noticed a speck of white on it. I thought it was a pimple so I squeezed it. (this is where it gets gross. if you have a weak stomach, then stop here) I was shocked to see a long stream of something(puz or goo?) shot out onto the mirror. no blood. I squeezed more. it was dripping down onto my hands and the sink and the wall. it was like a bad movie when someone notices something is terribly wrong with them. I kept squeezing. more and more stuff oozed out onto my hands. I got some toilet paper and wiped it up, saving it for evidence. I thought maybe I should send this to a lab to see what it is. it could be toxic! soon I was done squeezing and there was a small crater where the cyst used to be. I didn't want this to be permanent so I didn't squeeze anymore. next morning there was no bump like there was before, just a small scab as if I had cut myself shaving. I pressed it in and could feel the crater. but it sprung back and is not visible. I've squeezed it some more since then and its bloody now, so I don't squeeze it anymore. now I can shave without being too careful on the cyst spot. I'm so happy that its gone and it didn't cost me one dime, just a few sheets of toilet paper. so I've had this very positive attitude this week. I hope it doesn' t come back. anyone else have a cyst on their face? this is a true story. I promise.

Are we doing gross stories? Ok, here goes.
I was working on a skilled unit when I was still a student nurse. We had a patient that had gangrene in her foot. The family refused to let them amputate, so the poor woman had to just slowly rot. Her foot need the bandage changed so the charge nurse made me do it. Have you ever smelled gangrene? Rotting flesh, just like things that are dead. That was sickening enough, but I unwrapped her foot and two of her toes fell off in my hand. Now you understand why I specialize in psych.

wow. that's a good one. but I feel sorry for the poor woman that had to suffer so much b/c her family was too stupid to have her foot amputated. their hearts must be made of stone

I agree DG. I will never understand people like that.
I have one but it isn't gross LOL . Did you know that if you have one of those automatic openers where you press a button to open your car doors etc that if the battery is dead on your car it won't work ??? It also will not work if your car is running and locked !!! I found that out the hard way one day. Started it up, locked it and ran back inside to let it warm up. Cost me $50 to have a locksmith unlock it because I didn't have a door key !!

Did you know...my car won't let you lock the doors if the key is in the ignition. But it will if you have your keys in your lap and they slide off when you get out. That is why I have a teddy bear on my key chain now. Big enough I will know and plus easier to find in my bag. I always push the door lock when I get out. Guess I should get in the habit of locking it with the remote but I hate when it beeps when I do that. Draws attention to yourself when alone in a parking lot.
