hey everybody. i am going t court today at 9am et. my wifes lawyer has changed the charges they r gong to present against me and i obviously have no time to prepare. i asked my lawyer to ask for a continuance and she said we will talk about it tom. i am leary about her now. she said all my evidence was no good except a couple of things and that was for what they charged me with at first. now they are charging with addictiion to my prescription drugs. how can they change why i came down here for and me not get a continuance, my lawyer ..i'm not happy with the way she is acting. she was rushing me out. she said she only knew her lawyer a little but kept calling her by her first name and immediately correcting herself saying ...i mean miss robinson. please pray quick. im in court this am at 9 et.
i never had an official free consultation with her until yest. when i paid her. can she charge me for the free consultation or will she say my 3 phone calls were the free consultation. vance. i need prayer bad.

Oh my!! I would really scrutenize (??) this lawyer of yours...you don't want to lose...you can get a continuence if you ask the judge by telling him that you want time to look for another lawyer. He will do that.
Good luck, Vance, even tho I don't know the whole story...I'll be praying for you.

well I'll never listen to anybody but myself again. everybody told me ,get a lawyer,get a lawyer. i started out pro se. then her lawyer sent me a summons to be in court and gave me only 5 days to prepare. i asked for a continuance to her by fax. she called me and said we have proof you live in tn. but i have lived in nc since Oct 1 2008. she said the law says she only has to give 5 days notice and she had proof i was in tn. so everybody said get a lawyer so i did then because i had no time to prepare. then after i had already bought my plane tickets i hired a lawyer. i was still asking for a continuance because at least i would get to see my son with the plane tickets, so it would be worth it. red flags started popping p all over the place when i met with my lawyer. she said that they were no longer persuing the fact that i lived in nc and said they were going to say i was abusing my meds for my bulging disk and pinched nerve. so when i got to the court my lawyer said do you still want a continuance and i thought and said no(big mistake) lets get it over with. i had told my lawyer that my wife was on lortab and was getting xanax from her customers for years. i told her my wife was an alcoholic in denial. i told her she was seeing visions of earthquakes totally destroying the usa in 2007(it didn't happen did it? lol) i told my lawyer that she was saying my 4 year old was healing people thru God. i told her all this right before we walked in the courtroom. we went in and my wife ws lyingher head off and had my 17 yr old who we had the closest bond ever lie under oath too. i kept writing down questions for my lawyer to ask and she kept saying hold on. then the judge started ruling against me making me have supervised visitation and i kept telling her stop him say something,
she said i cant he's already making the ruling. i don't believe her. i believe she could have said something to him that me 'her client 'had more testimony. but she did not. i fired her right after. she got angry with me because i asked her why wouldn't she say something. she said real loud with a mean look and i did.
i have to be supervised with her sister, the one i dislike the most and she knows it. i asked if my sister could supervise also and she said no because she did not know her and had only talked to her twice. she has seen,visited,talked on the phone, and my sister even spent the night 3 nights for my graduation. AND she asked my sister to sign an affidavit that we were suitable parents so we could adopt my son... and she don't know her.. right. I'm going on my own unless i can get it moved to another county. i don't have a chance there. she knows everyone in the courthouse and cuts half their hair and knows the judge. so there's update.
i got a question. is it proper or do judges get mad f you write them a letter. i wrote a letter about everything that went on and haven't sent it yet.
if anybody has any advise please give it to me.

lmd, I'm in chancery court in tn
i'm gonna do ll this myself. not pay a lawyer. appeal it to appellate court...will cost me to appeal but i won't have to pay a lawyer and she will end up paying out the ***** or agree with my proposal.

You do realize everything you type on the internet can be pulled up and used against you...right? There is no such thing as privacy, espacially on MD. Anyone can use Google to retrace every single forum post you have made looooooooooooooong after you cancel.
Careful what you want to share with the whole world Vance, jus sayin.
