Why can`t people be truthful?

I met a couple of men and they started out to be ok and then
I find out they both had a lot of baggage if you know what I mean.It bugs me to no end that they couldn`t have been honest
with me from the start.
PS the sex was good

I emailed them for about a month and talked to them on the phone for a bit.I asked them about their lives and they both said they were divorced and there kids did not live with them.

Well, I wish I had an answer for why people believe they have to lie. I'm guessing their purpose was to get in your pants. Im not trying to be rude or mean by any standards....but sometimes men (and some women) have the tendency to lie to get some action. Why they feel they have to...no one will ever understand. But I really hope that you can find someone who will be good to you and not just use you. It's not fair for someone to intentionally lie and hurt someone else. Just keep your head up, somewhere there are nice guys :-).

I will be 40 in mid August..doesnt bother me the least 
Some people just lie to get what they want, or lie to hide a lie..it can go on and on.
