Greetings kids, I know it has been awhile, but what can I say, I have been having some personal problems and just have not had it in me to sit here and rant, I have been busy on the phone ranting instead!!!
Anyway on to my pet peeve(?) about internet dating. Lately I have received a huge amount of winks and emails from men in countries I have never even heard of. Most of them I cannot even spell. Some of these winks I have responded to, some of them I have not. but why on earth would someone send a wink or email to someone 3000 mile away from them? I question the sanity of someone 300 miles away winking at me, but 3000 miles. Where is the point in winking at someone so far away that there is very little chance that you will ever meet. And then when the person that you winked at respondes, you run and hide.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate each and every wink or email, I have even sent emails to men just because I think they are cute, and everyone needs a little boost now and again , and being human, we like to hear that someone thinks that we are attactive. But why wink, if you have no intention of ever communicating with that person ever again?
Now look, I'll be the first to admit that I am not a super attractive woman, nor do I have the greatest body in the world. But unless you are just so drunk that you are seeing 2 of me and hoping for a set of twins there is no excuse to wink or send an email and never responde if I email you back. And for those in the countries I can't even spell, I figure you are looking for either cyber sex or a green card and neither one is happening here, the cyber sex thing is clearly addressed in my profile, so why bother???
So, what do yall think??? Am I wrong???

Perhaps the better question is why do some of those emotional arsonists claim to be in your own backyard?
I've only been around a couple of weeks, and have had more than my share of Filipino and Chinese women winking and sending xeroxed mail. But the most suspicious so far claims to be in Tennessee. "She" winked, I responded and told her I wasn't able to really do anything at this point but write, "she" said that's okay and still was interested in knowing more about me, blah blah, so we corresponded a few more times. But when I broached the subject of talking more about our respective kids, maybe send pictures of them, etc, "she" fell off the planet.

don't give up, there are nice people out there. I have gotten some winks and mail from other countries, some was junk as I call it and for a while one was a "pen pal "...still have one I email occasionly in another country(we are just PP)I have "talked" with people from all over the USA and as a result have made a couple of very nice friends who have seen me thru some rough times; like my son being in iraq twice. Take care and good luck

Yep, you're right. I've already met a couple of very nice women during my short stay.
Personally, I'm not upset at the scammers, not at all. Like c***roaches, they simply exist. Playing them at their own game keeps the mind sharp.
