I didn't see anyone mention these two points that I've heard so just incase:
1. Responding with a polite "no thank you" typically leads to a rude response from the man. If I were to get cursed at for taking time out of my day to say no thanks I wouldn't bother either! You guys might not do that (I certainly don't either) but enough of them apparently do.
2. Women get WAY too many emails each week to bother responding to each and every one of them. Yes I know some women are reading that and saying "wha?" and I dunno what to say to them...maybe there are just fewer active members on this site?

got that right...too many times I have tried to head a guy off, been polite, obvious that they only looked at a picture and did NOT read the profile only to be attacked and bugged, really! It got so I blocked one man, somehow or other I STILL got an email from him so I complained to the site and asked that he never contact me again. It was surrealistic. How strange that people act that way. So, sometimes if they are way off from my profile if they wink I do not wink back. If they email, depending on their profile and if they have posts I can look at, I have been known ocassionally not to email back. If they have rude posts, I never email them back.

Didn't this turn into a hot little thread? !! LOL I have to call BS on a couple of things that I have seen posted. First of all, it was mentioned that women have way too many emails to respond to each one. Well the girls are on here to receive emails, as well as the guys, so why wouldn't they look at each one and respond to it, even if it is just to create a quick response saying thanks but no thanks. Lets see here, the girls have much more opportunity on here, and I am supposed to feel sorry for them because they get more emails than I do???? NOT !!!! Look girls, just be honorable in your endeavors here, just make a quick reply if not interested, and if you have a jerk that hassles you just block them and go on to better things.
Secondly, if a quick polite "no thank you" response typically solicits a rude response from guys like mentioned in a previous posting, that sucks. If someone is nice enough to send me a quick no thank you, I will send an email back saying thanks and good luck in their search.

Not all "the girls" are on here to get email. There is no obligation for response any more than there is obligation for any kind of inital contact.
When I get an email that says "wanna chat?" or "HOW R U?", I view it as equivalent to the person in a department store with a bottle of cologne to spray on passersby or the homeless person on the street with a sign. At times I may feel charitable, but most times I am about my own business, knowing that I was not a person to them.
So, if in your book, that makes me an impolite person, fine, mark me down as an impolite person...and blessings on you.

I agree lacy.
I can understand thinking it was rude if I were to walk up to a girl in person and say hello and she were to not say anything at all or pretend I wasn't there but this is just another email to someone online and so why the need for a response to know that she isn't interested? If that person doesn't respond to let you know they just aren't interested are you going to email again and again or stop emailing other people until that person lets you know? Not likely so why let it bother you.

LOL I love the myth that women get all these e-mails.. Either that or I am an odd woman out LOL.. I get a couple a month.. And I have talked to these men and a couple of women friends.. I am still waiting to see my mailbox full ha ha ha.. GRIN sometimes the men I talk to become friends usually not more as they fade away or perhaps I am just missing them I don't know, Perhaps it is because I am not into getting married and am up front about it.. I mean sure you live in your house I live in mine it all good.. Most I meet here in any case are a few hundred miles away and I am not staying where I am for much more than one more year in any case perhaps this scares ppl away.. Trust me I am not about to camp on any-one's doorstep.. I like mine just fine where ever that doorstep may well be.. So Perhaps there is more myth than reality going on here.. But then again many like the myth and not the reality of what is in any case.. All I can say is find your bliss your happiness or whatever you want to call it and live to the fullest you can.. OK another of my 4 or 5 cents LOL..

Point blank..you werent attractive. could have been the photo, a comment, your height. Who knows. You cant get into other peoples minds or control their actions. So dont concentrate so much on those that dont answer...look into the ones that do. and YOU will find what you are looking for.

I agree with what your wrote Mr. Travis. I must also say that I very often find contraditions in a profile and I find that a big turn off also.

In response to a_heinsohn, he's right. One of the big things is that if you reply when not interested, it is USUALLY (no, not always) a nasty letter back at you. I've tried both. I've replied politely, and I have simply deleted. I have tended to stick with simply deleting an e-mail from someone I am not interested in. I know I don't expect a reply from someone not interested in me.
Then, there is another example. What if you decide to give that person who wrote to you the benefit of the doubt and converse with them for a while....let's say a week? Then, you decide, you were right in the beginning, they were not for you. So, you tell them just that, and decide to move on. Talk about being berated!
That is why many people (men and women, alike) simple delete that e-mail.

Thats why people need to understand that its only friendship on the first level and never read more into something that just is not there.

Those who are anti-Christian greatly disturb me. This country was founded on Biblical ,Old (Torah) and New Testament principles. It seems that the new "In Thing" is bashing Christians while Muslim terrorists are given a pass by the mainstream media and Leftist lawmakers and celebrities.

Actually Travis people left the country of origin because of over crowding and persecution.. Religion played it's part (as in running from other religions saying it's my way or I will kill you) but many came with out it and our founding fathers were good in separating Church and State.. Some people left to make money plain and simple, there was what they thought of as opportunity and the coyote's of the time played on that many of our white people came here as indentured servants and were basically slaves until they could or someone in the family could buy their contract this is because the people had to pay an outragious amount to get here.. This happened for a long period of time and in some instances is probably happening today.. This country as founded on commerce Money it is why the Spaniards (gold) came it is why the English (raw materials) came and it is why we do not have a popular vote for president we have an electoral college because our founding fathers who were lawyers and learned men of the time deemed that the general population was to ignorant to vote and with this ignorance the founding fathers actually won as all that are still in power are still those with money (aka landed men).. And as we see all the time especially now that power/money talks and everything else walks...

Much of what redbronze says is true, however, the Spaniards, etc., did not found this country. Regarding separation of church and state, the original purpose of this clause was to prevent the state from extablishing a STATE church like the Church of England. It has no other purpose. It does not mean that the majority can be oppressed by a noisy anti-christian minority.
By the way, part of my family arrived on these shores in 1644, probably on a prison ship, so it makes no difference whatever why people came here.

Travis while you say that the anti-christian minority is trying to run the country I have to disagree.. There are many factions that are almost christian cultish that are doing the dastardly deed.. It is not the anti-christian minority. Bush and Co. are of that breed of it's my way or your a traitor and have perverted everything the Founding fathers put into place..
I could be a whatever and because I do not belong to the "right" church I can and actually have been hassled by these same people.. I believe in a higher power but because I do not believe in their higher power am again hassled or excluded or my children have been hassled.. Not a pretty picture in any one's book.. It is a part and parcel if one is considered different from the other..
A friend's son was run over by some young christian punks while he was driving her shovel-head down the street because he had a Pagan and Proud of it t-shirt on.. Her motorcycle crushed beyond repair and her son still in the hospital.. This is what we have to deal with on a daily basis.. Do you? Has a Pagan gotten into your face and tried to convert you into taking care of the Mother? Have you been hit by a car or beat up in an alley or if your a woman have you had a Christian Minister try to have sex with you because you do not count in the Heavenly misdeeds category? These are things that this minority has seen or had happen to her..
I do not care what religion you are I do not care what god or goddess you worship but if I have read right Jesus was the ultimate pacifist.. He was able to run and leave but chose to die for, what other's say, the sins of man.. He washed the feet of Lepers and he chose to be a patron and savior of the down trodden all from his empathy for those who are different not because he was saving souls.. The perversions that have come on the heels of said Jesus have been from rich men in power even the Romans embraced Christianity so they could stay in power and control of the masses.. And most if not all of the holy-days are taken from the Pagan or indigenous population.. Not directly from real "christian" ( as the holy-days would coincide with the Jewish ones) holy-days again in order to control the population.. I do not even understand the hostility of many towards Jews as Christianity is just that, with the twists and turns of those who wrote in power to corrupt the very precepts of being from the branch of Judaism that Jesus was from.. It is like most movements, they are usually corrupted by power, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.. I almost wish that the true teaching of what Jesus was doing were here as he looked and thought a whole lot like a Pagan..
Smile.. Have a great day Blessed be....
