What is to do out here besides bar scenes? I had to make up my own group to find anything happening. Anyone slightly metaphysical out there?

Any good fishing-off-the-bank places? Don't have a working boat right now. If you know somewhere you don't have to boat to or wade to, that would be nice as well. Or someplace with lights to SUCCESSfully pier fish at night?

Well heck! I am not very good at fresh water fishing. I would need a teacher for that. Wanna volunteer? (giggle) Does that sound like a flirt or WHAT!

Galveston has the fishing pier at about 87th street that is lighted. usually open year round, weather permitting. and they do catch fish. think it is an $8.00 fee to fish.

Spirit, i live 38 miles from galveston..and live right between Nasa and Houston...Be carefull, right now unlike years ago, Galveston and Dickinson and League City are police towns, and well, just letting you know. In Galveston anymore i just go to 61st and hang a right coming from the south I-45 and when i dead end at the seawall, keep going about 10 more miles and you will find a area to actually park on the sand and have fun as we did in the 60's and 70's. Now on this fishing, check with the permits departments first, and best way, just drive to the Galveston Police department and ask them where can i fish and what do i need??? You will save a lot of getting the run around..BTW, i was BORN and raised here, and SIGH, unlike many people try to potray, no, we do not run around on horses...Even as late as 1975 guys were still wearing bellbottoms and wearing long hair, and most all HATE country and western music. I'm only trying to save you time because i like you Spirit, and i am a native Houston/Galveston 50 year old male, that has lived it all around here....Earl
BTW, forgot to add..Sigh...It is ALL Salt Water fishing...Spirit, feel free to email me, because many people that are 700 miles north of me in Texas aren't going to give you an answer that is worthwhile i feel. I was raised here, plus got around and was not a little angel, never mean or destructive, but did and tried it all....Earl

I am from Houston originally and have been here in Galveston county for several years. I am really looking to do some things that are not tourist stuff here. I don't want to be in all the drunk and drinking crowds. Just looking for different ways to amuse and entertain myself. It looks like I will have my metaphysical and healing meetup group meeting in Galveston at a private apt on Dec 19th. We will have a potluck and chat and do healing. Boy will it be fun!

Well, we had a party the 19th. !2 people showed counting me. Wow, was that a blast. Looks like I will have a meditation/releasing old energies at the Galv apt in January. After that we will hold another one in January that is to help us create in the quantum fields. Create our new year. Neighbors are welcome. This is an intermediate to advanced meditation healing class. I can hold a beginner's class as well for any interested in trying out healing meditations. Be prepared for change tho. This is not for people wanting to stay where they are in life.

Hey spirit--how about an exercise group? I love my water aerobics in the summer. Also used to belong to a BUNKO group at school That was a blast. Now I just do solitary exercising and try to get all my school work done during the week so I can spend time on the week end with the b/f. But right now, that works for me. I've never been up to your part of Texas. Whenever I've gone to the coast it's been to Port Aransas. I cuold spend hours just walking on the beach though. I've never been salt water fishing, just lakes and rivers. I hope you find someone to help you out. Sign

Heya, Sign! Hug! I did start my own metaphysics and healing group here and it is a blast! We hold it in Galveston and we have meditations and crystal bowl healing and do healing on each other.
The Music Fest is at the Crazy Oaks Bar. It used to be the Lazy Oaks Bar. I am going to be there!
