I just created this page yesterday, and so far I've been receiving my share of mail. I don't think not one person from my area has a profile on here though. anyway, has anyone founda match thru here?? or had a positive experience?

My experience on Matchdoctor has been mixed. I have sent out a number of polite, well-written messages to women on this site but have received few, if any, replies. However, I have gotten several e-mails and winks from women living in China and the Philippines. I wonder why they wrote to me.

The active demographic seems to be a bit older than what I'm shooting for. No offense to present company. Most people in my range have not been active in over 3 months.
*shrugs* I'm guessing that it's poorly marketed. They also had a span of time in which the site tried to suddenly start charging you money to talk to anyone, and I imagine that drove a lot of the core user-base away. I'm not "on the hunt", so that's fine. I've just had this account from way back when I gave the whole internet dating thing a serious swing (Match, Yahoo Personals, you name it) and check in from time to time when I'm bored on the computer.

Like many of you I also am not having any luck here as most people I am interested in or perhaps would be interested are too far away for it to really happen.. So in essance I have also stopped looking.. I come on to read the blogs and the forums, No mail this week.. Hummmmm LOL...

I have made some good online friends. I have done my first posting to forums and my first blogging. I have met a number of very nice people, both men and women. It is working well for me.

I feel that you make it what you want it to be...As Lacy stated it has worked well for me, however I didn't come on here with high expectations. So I have been pleasantly surprised. Only one "fubar" has happened to me & I have let that one go...He was married & emphatically stated that he was single...lol... What is it with the human race? Oh well!!

I dont take it seriously, i think of this place as to just meet more people...much like a myspace. There are alot of beautiful people on here that have sent me winks and ive chatted to. If one happens to spark my interest and things happen than cool. But i wont be expecting it to happen.

Not working bad,...but not great either. Most of that is due to my profile I'm sure,...but hey,...what the heck! LOL!

It took me about 2 years to finally meet someone. Though we're not in the same city, we're close enough that the distance is very workable. Prior to meeting him, I wasn't really working that hard at meeting anyone. I took on the attitude that if it were meant to happen it adventually would. I really enjoy reading the blogs and the forums and from there have met some really nice people on here.
I also think that if MD would market themselves better that this site would be more successful at matching up people. The improvements have been wonderful though.

Newsguy..... - It's either a legitimate mail order bride wanting to marry or more than likely a money scam....... If they will never email you with personal inofrmation, it's a scam...... They usually send a drop dead gorgeous pic of woman...and never talk about specifics ...... beware.......

Thanks for the info, HelloThere. I figured as much. Now I am getting the same form e-mails from women who sound like they are from Russia. If they haven't quickly cancelled their MD accounts, I check their profiles and see they have a U.S. city listed as their home. Very suspicious. I never answer those e-mails. You are right. We should be very wary of those messages.

I very much enjoy matchdoctor. Especially all the friends I have found from far away places like Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Phillipines, etc. Get to exchange info about my life and culture and learn about theirs. My favorite is a lady dentist from Russia on the Black Sea. She says it is very warm, almost like a Riviera.
Maybe someday I will be blessed to visit her. I leave for Mexico this Saturday and will meet someone from there during my visit. Dave

I have been on this site for over 6 years. Have had a bunch of great casual dates, made a few friends all over the country that I occasionally chat and meet up with for drinks or dinner when traveling, found a few good "intimate friends" that we meet occasionally with no strings, and met a few nut cases that I avoid like I avoid the IRS.
I approach this site like I approach life. I have fun and don't take it too seriously. I also don't expect to meet my soul mate. Probably because I have no desire to have someone in my life all the time. I have never had an issue meeting nice ladies and only started screwing around on this site at work as a joke. We had a contest to see who could get the most mails each week. It was riot. Humor is your best friend when writing your profile.
I also have found that if I'm not getting any hits, I rewrite the ol profile and get a little goofy and nutty. People are looking for a good time as we have enough BS at work, school, etc.
I no longer even write ladies blindly nor do I send winks. I just reply to those I get. Not bad for a guy who refused to post a picture. Of course it probably helps that I live in a large metropolitan area with a shit load of available fantastic ladies(Gotta Love Dallas), and am a total riot to be around. Yes I am humble too. Ha
Don't give up! There are some great people to meet on this site. It is the only one that I even check anymore as I refuse to pay those other sites. I'd rather spend my 29.95 on a nice bottle of wine to take on a picnic. HAPPY SAILING!!!

Not being able to be at the computer more than a few moments every couple of days doesn't help me.
