Most of the profiles on this site seem real enough. However, it seems that every e-mail I get is generic and is either trying to get me to go to some porn site or they are trying to get me to help them out of their country or something. So I was wondering, are there any real people on here? Well, I know there are but what is the deal? Anyone else dealt with these issues?

I don't know about anyone else,...but I am personally a computer program. :P
There are all kinds of spammers in here,...but most of the time, they're not in the forums.

Well I'm real and respond on an email to email basis.. just depends on what ya say to me, on what i respond to... I have received a few that seem like cookie cutter introduction letters. Ya just have to weed thru em and keep on responding.
Have to agree with ya palehorse, you don't see many spammers on the forums. Might make for interesting reading tho if they did. LOL

Yeah, it seems that every email I get is from someone trying to get a green card. Or, my most recent email is from a woman who says she is 36 and has a 27 yr old son. Now, I'm not a mathematician but either they're lying or she was the worlds youngest mother.

It has free emails here so they are loaded with spammers. You just want to check out the strange email thread in the general category. Anytime someone sends you an email address in the first email, look out.
Someone going to shoot you their private email immediately are either scammers or they will sell your email address to spammers.

I'm real also. Yeppers you have to weed out the good from the bad, which is sometimes difficult. Most of the time I just read what they have to say then delete them. I have a hard time seperating who is great to be talking to and who isn't...
I like these forums, you meet some good people on here....

These Nigerian spammers are getting better in their letter writing, Stealing perhaps is abetter word.. I have two from last night that sing my praises and I do not know them from Adam.. Smile I send all the above to the spam or abuse dept and in a few days you will see that the acct has been canceled..
I am real well I think I am real LOL.. Just waiting for the sun to shine and warm weather to stay... Smile....

Laziness is certainly not an attractive trait.
I probably never would've contacted you, actually. I'm wary of any profile with only one picture and a bland set of profile narratives -- usually indicative of a gay dude parading as a woman on the internet (assuming the one photo is attractive) or a front for a porn-site.

There are a lot of spammers out there but they are usually easy to spot.
When I do find someone I think is real and they ask about me to tell about myself I give two or three short paragraphs about likes and wants. However, when I ask for information about them I am lucky to get one line. It makes me feel so disrespected and I usually don’t want to meet or chat after this happens. Is it just me or does this happen to everyone?

Purple, that's happened to me too. Even with the guy I'm seeing right now. He can talk up a storm, but he's not much for emailing. So once we started talking on the phone, things went better. But I would email him a nice paragraph and get a line in response! Now I can't get him to shut up when we're together!! (JK) We always have a lot to talk about and that's a good thing.

Lots of real people here but most are wary because of the spammers. Since it is a free site, there are a lot of scammers and spammers. If you post in the forums a lot, you will get people to trust you more. They can see how you are and those that are compatible with your personality will eventually talk with you.

I agree Spirit. If you post in the forums, write blogs or make up quizzes, it is more likely the person is "real" as opposed to a scammer. They don't take the time to bother with that stuff since most of the time, their ability to express themselves in English is very limited.
