Thanks for the info. I'm used to working percentage. I like it that way.
I left AZ because the taxes and cost of living are too high and the pay scale is pathetic. Too many illegals driving trucks on fake licenses, with fake registration, insurance, plates - and they work for less than those of us who 'do the right thing' can afford to live on. If they get a ticket or get into an accident - they just bail the country and come back in a few weeks with more fake paperwork. I moved back to southwest FL a few months ago only to find that it's now the same here. Too many illegals with fake paperwork cutting the rates til you can't afford to live on whatever paycheck you can get.
To make things worse - construction here fell off in November and is now totally dead. Hard finding any trucking job no matter what you're willing to haul.
There's just no incentive to do the right thing anymore. That sucks.

West Texas (Odessa-Midland area)...we're in another Oil Boom. Lots of money to be made and less than 4% unemployment. All kinds of driving jobs.

Unbelievable,i get really mad when i hear about illegals ,specially in the trucking industry. We have the same problem here in UK too.a lot of polish mostly with fake licences driving and getting paid peanuts, which f***s us drivers like me that i had to pay a lot of money to get my class1 /A ,And making it nearly impossible to find a job.Not to mention that halve of them dont know how to drive and end up smashing most of the lorries which makes it more expensive to the companey that employs them. By the way,I want to come to the USA to live and work there ,but I will do it the right way round.Ther is a process, wher you can get a working visa from the american consulate and the process goes on till after ure in the states, wher you wait for some time till you get your social number and converg the driving licence.Obviously this process is not free, and if im correct ,it can cost up to someting like $6000. Im still looking in to it myself
