There are plenty of nice guys in Texas. I've met several and am currently dating one. There are nice men and nice women, you just have to weed out those who are not.

 We are here on MD just do a search! It also wouldn’t hurt if you say hello first! If a man can do it then a woman can too. If we men just sat around waiting for our dream lady to say hello, well hell will have to freeze over first!  So most of us take that chance on saying hello to the ladies we like and at times get shoot down, but as men we brush ourselves off and say hello to another and another. What I am saying woman can do the same. I can say I am friends to a couple of ladies here on MD just because they said hello first. Never don on me that they may be interested from reading there "Ideal Match".
Believe it or not, we or most of us men do read the whole profile and check out your pictures too. If the picture is not posted or out dated or badly taken why should we be interested? We want to see the real you! Same goes for a badly written profile, a profile I feel should be written in such a way after reading it, I would want to contact you if we were a match.
Plus another item would be just say not interested if you are contacted first and not interested, its just common courtesy. You don’t have to say why, just say not interested. If they can’t take a hint then block them, Then End!

The same goes the other way also. I have initiated contact with many men, including the current b/f. Most did not even bother to reply at all. So don't blame all the women on this one.

I am sure men and women are looking using the same techniques: reading profiles, looking at pictures and thinking. So its not new!
I think there is no need to send any reply if you are not interested. I only can tell about myself - it would be so unpleasant to get even a polite reply that he is not interested - better not to say anything! I will understand!
At the same time it happened to me so many times before - started sending emails to each other, one week, two weeks, called each other and suddenly he disappears! This is the case when I would like to get any explanations! But never got any! Very bad feeling.... Should be even 2-3 words sent....

Oh, it's much better for me when someone says - "Hey, not interested" as opposed to just being rude and never letting you know. Sure, you will get bumbs and bruises, but it's better to know for sure.

Signme there was no blame given out, at all, you shouldn’t be so defensive, this wasn’t meant to be men against woman response to the question; it was just how I see things, my opinion! Sorry it wasn’t said in a politically correct way not to offend your female sensibility but then when you read the question it was sort of directed at us men for a response.
As far as you initiated the contact with many men, you may be the exception not the norm. But you did what I suggested by making first contact and it seemed to work too! You now have a B/F! WoW!

Hey jnwaco, the ladies get the same thing. I email a few men on here and most just read and delete. No response or go jump in a river. I know i'm not the best looking tool in the shed but hey i'm still sharp. So don't feel bad hun. We all go through it. Men and woman alike..

Dwain--i was not being defensive, I was only stating a fact as it concerned me.
I also reply to all emails that I receive which aren't many! LOL
Only time I did not reply was today. A guy emailed me yesterday and wanted to get together and I told him I was sorry but had met someone I was with now. I wished him luck in his search. I got another email today saying he was so glad I wrote back so we can be friends. HUH??? That one I deleted.
