Conroe, anyone?

I have moved from the beach to Conroe. Anyone in the area know of any places to go here? What kind of fun stuff to do here? I also was told that last he heard the water level was down in the lake. Anyone have info on the water levels and fishing there?

Conroe is supposed to be a very nice area with excellent fishing in the lakes. Don't know much more about it though. Used to go camping with my son's scout troop at Camp Strake, south of Conroe. Mosquitos large enough to carry off the smaller scouts.

Well, the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival is next weekend, not this one but 12-13-14 Oct. Zydeco music.http://www.conroecajuncatfishfestival.com/ Food, drink and maybe dancing.

Silly me!  I thought it was last Saturday for some reason. Wish I could be there. 
Tomorrow, I will be going to a group meet-up called Parents and Families Of Children With Aspergerger's And Autism. It will be at the Houston Zoo... and on Sunday, my sister, brother-in-law and I may go boating and waterskiing on Lake Conroe!
Anyway, have a good time!!!

Well, dang, get them to buzz by the festival then. Kids under twelve are free. I had a GREAT time. Got a t-shirt that says Zydeco on it painted in my fave color combinations. We listened to the music. I will try to go back and bring my own shirts to have her airbrush. I have three tank tops that are a wee bit too thin and I will have them painted to cover up a bit.

Well, I found that on the first Thursday is a free concert from 6 pm to 9 pm at Heritage Park from April to I think August or September. I was too tired after working on the fence to go this month. Maybe next month I will make it. I have also read that some place I think is called Papas is a good place to go dance but have yet to find where that is. I will post it when I find it.
Caddy Shack at Lake Conroe is supposed to have bands also. I am going to post another thread with places to meet around here and Houston closer to us here.
